Hello everyone, We would love to invite you to a free, relaxed hands-on science evening for adults, where we will explore one of the most fascinating molecules of life: DNA. This workshop is a chance to come together, learn something new, and enjoy a friendly community exchange. The evening is free of charge, open to everyone, whether you already enjoy science or are simply curious and would like to try something different. We will begin with a short introduction to what DNA is, then we will focus on strawberry DNA and explore why strawberries are especially useful for this kind of experiment. During the session, you will also have the chance to look at strawberry cells under the microscope before carrying out a simple DNA extraction. By the end of the activity, you will be able to see real strawberry DNA with your own eyes. No previous science knowledge is required — just curiosity, a willingness to explore, and an interest in spending a relaxed evening learning together. The workshop will take place in a classroom setting, so participation is limited to 25 people. Dabei habe ich entdeckt, dass ich oft einen vermeidenen Beziehungsstil habe - ich weiche lieber aus, trenne mich oder spreche Probleme nicht an, weil ich wahrscheinlich in meiner Kindheit aus unterschiedlichen Ereignissen gelernt habe... dass bringt eh nichts, ich kann anderen nicht vertrauen, das macht man nicht, meine Bedürfnisse sind nicht wichtig, usw. In der Auseinandersetzung mit den Beziehungs- / Bindungstypen habe ich bemerkt, wie gut es mit tut, mit anderen mich darüber auszutauschen. Weil: * Ich bin nicht allein. * Ich lernen die Gefühle anderer kennen * Ich entwickle ein gutes Gefühl für die anderen Beziehungsstile (nicht nur meinen) * Ich löse das Thema für mich Schritt für Schritt - und werde immer sicher in meinen Bindungen & Beziehungen. ***Create your own Japanese-kumiko technique wooden coasters and enjoy an authentic udon experience*** Join our collaborate event by wanowa and Shodo Udon Lab! In this hands-on workshop, you'll create two unique wooden coasters using traditional Japanese **Mon'yō (文様)** patterns. These motifs have been used in architecture, textiles, and everyday objects for centuries, expressing ideas of harmony, nature, and connection. Rather than simply following a template, you'll have the freedom to experiment with color, composition, and pattern combinations to create a design that reflects your own aesthetic. **What is KAKERA?** "Kakera" (かけら) means *fragment* or *piece* in Japanese. The coaster is assembled from individual wooden pieces that come together to form a larger composition of a traditional Monyo pattern. Each participant creates their own interpretation, making every coaster slightly different. The workshop combines traditional Japanese craft of Kumiko with contemporary digital fabrication techniques. Join us Saturday, June 20th at 10am for a gentle beginner-friendly yoga flow at the Columbus Park of Roses with Victoria, one of our very own vegan community members and certified yoga teacher! Whether you’re brand new to yoga or a long time practitioner, this class is designed to help you slow down, stretch, breathe, and reconnect with yourself. Expect a relaxed, accessible flow focused on easing tension, moving mindfully, and leaving you feeling a little more grounded. All levels welcome! Bring water and a yoga mat (or towel if you don’t have a mat). A suggested donation of $10 is appreciated, but payment is absolutely not required to attend and enjoy class. A Venmo QR code will be available on-site for anyone who would like to contribute. The class duration will be one hour from 10-11am. After class, we’ll head to Pattycake Bakery for anyone who wants to keep the good vibes going over delicious sweets and conversation 🌱

DateColumbus's Pickleball League is back — 8 weeks of casual open play, rotating partners, new connections, and honestly? A really good time. Whether you've never held a paddle in your life or you've been playing for years, this league was built for you to show up, get moving, and meet people IRL. **Never played before? You're in the right place.** For the first three weeks, we'll have on-site instructors ready to walk you through the basics in the first 30 minutes — no experience needed, no pressure, just good vibes and a little coaching. Our volunteers are also on-site every Monday to get you settled on the courts, introduce you around, and make sure you leave with at least a few new faces in your contacts. **How it works:** We run open play — meaning you'll rotate courts AND partners throughout the night. Winners stay for one round before rotating, so there's always someone new to meet, rally with, and maybe grab a drink with after. Maximum mingling.
