A Spring Kirtan & HeartSong Celebration Lean into an uplifting evening of pause, self‑care, and connection by the sea. Earth Day 2026 - Storytelling & Sustainability Stand in the Park
Earth Day 2026 - Storytelling & Sustainability Stand in the Park
Join us as we celebrate **International Earth Day!** Ecological sentiment is not something new; it has always been a part of our relationship with Mother Earth. In the 21st century, perhaps we have forgotten how to love the world we live in? Has our relationship with Nature become merely pragmatic, practical, and nearly utilitarian, instead of nurturing and meaningful? What we do not love, we can’t protect. Responsibility comes from the heart, which is why ancient wisdom reminds us that we belong to the world we live in and that we are a living part of a much greater cosmos. It is falling in love with that sense of belonging that will give energy and care to our actions for Mother Earth. **How to belong: Myths from Around the World** Step into our storytelling circle to hear ancient myths that have shaped the human-nature relationship for millennia. We will explore how different cultures have traditionally viewed their responsibility to the Earth. **How to transform everyday habits into sustainable actions!** Explore practical DIY cleaning solutions made from simple, eco-friendly ingredients. Join us to learn sustainable ideas that fit into your daily routine, from reducing waste to making small, impactful changes. Participate in our interactive sustainability stand designed to inspire small but important steps toward a healthier planet. Whether you’re looking to reduce your carbon footprint or simply want to live more sustainably, this stand offers actionable tips and hands-on inspiration. Because sustainability is not about losing something, it is about remembering our relationship with the living world. *We will meet in Dartmouth Square Park at 2pm.*

Let’s play... Ars Magica / Agon / The Quiet Year
Let’s play... Ars Magica / Agon / The Quiet Year
Join us every Sunday and tell a story as a group by playing a beginner-friendly roleplaying game. Every week we have 2-3 different games - you will choose which game you play on the day. All materials provided and rules are explained at the start of each game, you just need to bring your imagination. 🎭 **This week's facilitators:** * 🧙 **Dave** with *[Ars Magica](https://www.atlas-games.com/arsmagica/)*, a game about magi in a mythic version of medieval Europe shaped by hidden magic, ancient traditions, and rival powers. In the wild frontiers of the Slavic lands, a child has vanished into the forest. Branded a witch by some, sought as a prodigy by others, he is now hunted from all sides. You’ll follow his trail through shifting woods and uneasy villages, caught between rival factions, a ruthless magus seeking an apprentice, and armed bands closing in. The forest itself resists you: spirits mislead, paths twist, and nothing is quite what it seems. Expect investigation, tense roleplay, moral choices, and possible combat. Who do you trust? And when the hunters arrive, what will you do with the boy? * 🐍 **Adam** with *[Agon](http://www.agon-rpg.com/)*, where you play mythic Bronze Age heroes cast adrift by the gods and sailing from island to island, searching for home and competing for glory. On the island of Nimos, the funeral of the king's son is underway, alongside ceremonial games of hand-to-hand combat in his honour. But the fighters are twisted into savagery by strange elixirs, and the land itself appears poisoned. Will you discover the source and true nature of this dangerous alchemy? * **🏘️ Filip** with *[The Quiet Year](https://buriedwithoutceremony.com/the-quiet-year)*, a GM-less, dice-less game of narrative and worldbuilding. Who... who's there at the horizon? Is that fairies? Orcs? Fairy-orcs? Demons?! Surely not demons... Whoever they are (or will be) - they need a quiet year. You play as a medium-sized community of - well, whatever we collectively decide, to tell their story over a year in a new place entirely. *** Feel free to ask the organisers any questions you have (here or on our [Discord server](https://tinyurl.com/indie-rpgs-dublin)).

Ward River Valley and Swords Castle walk
Ward River Valley and Swords Castle walk
On Sunday 19th April we shall have a walk in the Ward River Valley to Swords Castle. **Meeting Location** Swords Express bus stop on Eden Quay which is next to stop 135351 and Meaghers Pub. From O'Connell St head towards the River Liffey and when you get to the river, turn left. The bus stop is a short distance on the left hand side. The Swords Express bus takes Leap Cards (please ensure you have enough credit) and is scheduled to depart at 10:45. If it's easier for you to catch a different bus to the walk's starting point then please let the organisers know. **Route Description** From the meeting point on Eden Quay we will take the Swords Express bus to near the Windmill Lands area of Swords from there we walk through the park and along the Ward River into Swords itself to see the historic round tower of St Columba's Church, the holy well and the lovely Swords Castle. The distance is approximately 5km. There will be time to look round the castle which is free to visit. After maybe a cup of tea or a pint of beer, we will take the bus back into Dublin. Or alternatively if people wish, we could have a further walk to Malahide Station via the lovely Malahide Estuary. This is approximately a further 5.5km. Some paths can be a little muddy, but the chosen route should avoid the worst sections. If it's dry and warm enough, we'll probably have a picnic in the park. There are no shops on the walk, but there are many shops, cafés and pubs in Swords itself. \*\*\* If you wish to wander off during a break then it's probably OK but please agree with the organisers a time you'll return so we're not waiting for you \*\*\* We hope to see you there! Feel free to come on the walk even if you haven't been to a meet up before. This is a great way to meet new people and see new places. **\*\*\* Important, please click on Attend if you wish to join this event. If you can no longer make it then please change your RSVP or send a message. Don't be a no-show - the organisers reserve the right to remove people from the group who have multiple no-shows. \*\*\*** Host: Tim (085 718 5658) On the day of the event, if you need to contact the organiser then please send a WhatsApp message is the best way. Before the day you can send a message via Whatsapp or leave a message below. FAQs 1. Is there a charge for this event? No, this is a free event. Sometimes we have events that involve a visit to a museum or garden with an entrance fee - but this will be clearly marked in the details 2. Is it OK for people on a short visit to Ireland to join this walk? Yes both visitors and residents alike are welcome to join our walks. 3. How easy/difficult is this walk? Most walking groups would classify this as an easy walk, but having a reasonable level of fitness is recommended. 4. Why are there only a limited number of places for this event? To ensure the best possible experience for the people attending it is necessary to limit the numbers, especially as the chosen route may not be straightforward and along narrow paths. 5. Why is it necessary to book on this event if you wish to attend? This is because there are only a limited number of spaces (see point above) and to ensure the fairest allocation of spaces, we kindly request everyone to book a place. It's OK to change your mind about coming but please change your RSVP as soon as you have for someone else to take the place if they wish to. PLEASE NOTE: Walking like many outdoor activities carries an element of risk. People who take part in our meet up activities do so at their own risk and are responsible for their own actions and involvement. If you register to join our meet up walks you agree that you wish to take part in the activities despite these risks. Please wear boots, shoes or runners that you find comfortable, provide suitable support and have good grip as some of the paths may be uneven or steep. It is also recommended to bring water to avoid dehydration. Bring warm clothes and a waterproof jacket or umbrella in case of inclement weather. Contra dance with Big Scioty May 2 - Clinton Heights Lutheran church
Contra dance with Big Scioty May 2 - Clinton Heights Lutheran church
**Caller: Richard Ades** **Band: The McKenzies** **Clinton Heights Lutheran Church** **15 Clinton Heights Ave, Columbus, OH 43202** WHAT IS CONTRA DANCING? Picture the Grand Ball scenes like you’ve seen in period films such as “Pride and Prejudice”, where the dancers are lined up in long lines, across from each other. That’s English Country Dancing, the predecessor of contra dancing. Now, add moves like “swing your partner” and “do-si-do,” like you’ve seen in square dancing. Set it to fabulous, high energy, live music with fiddles, guitars, percussion and more, alá “Riverdance.” Finally, set the whole scene down in the middle of Woodstock, with a hip, groovy atmosphere, a bit of tie-dye, and hints of counter-culture attitude. THAT’s Contra Dancing! Wear cool and comfortable clothes (you will get warm) and clean shoes that won't mark up our nice wood floor. Be sure to come for the beginner's lesson from 7:30 - 8:00, followed by dancing 8:00 - 10:30. All dances are taught; we will help you learn! Beginners always welcome, no need to bring a partner. Cost is $10.00 adults, $5.00 ages 12-26. Under 12 free. Free parking in church lot. For more information contact me or check out our website: [www.bigscioty.com](http://www.bigscioty.com/) Please bring your own refillable water bottle.
