Sundays at Six
Sundays at Six
Hi everyone! Sundays at Six is back again! Sorry for missing the last few meetings. I was away travelling, and then recuperating, feeling sad and blue, etc. etc., so just couldn't pull it off. This has been a tough time for me, wonder how everyone else is doing. It's kind of hard to pick up and be creative/joyous again, but I guess we must go on. Please join us tomorrow afternoon at six. Bring your ideas and projects, plans and dreams...let's just get out of here and go someplace fun, even if it's in our heads and hearts! Would love to see you tomorrow on Zoom. 3D Printing Show n' Tell - Online!
3D Printing Show n' Tell - Online!
In between the regular monthly meetups we can get together online and share our webcam or desktop or whatever. We're using Discord which allows for desktop screen sharing and a webcam all at the same time, up to 25 people! Join our Discord with the link below. http://discord.sandiego3dprinting.com Webcam and screen sharing are totally optional, but I strongly encourage a mic and headphones. Discord does a decent job at killing feedback, but it's not perfect without them. Mobile phones will work too, but the experience is the best with the Desktop app. See ya in a week or 2! =D Brictone

Mt. Lebanon Zentanglers ONLINE
Mt. Lebanon Zentanglers ONLINE
This session: General information: Sue Schneider will guide you through this meditative drawing art form. Step-by-step, you will learn the basic process for creating a small, abstract design using repetitive pattern skills. Zentangle is easy, relaxing and stress-free; perfect for "these challenging times". FIRST-TIMERS: If you are brand new to Zentangle, I'm happy to send you my Beginner's Guide, that will fill you in on background, basic techniques and some starter patterns. Just email me at sue.schneider.artist@gmail.com with "Beginner's Guide Request" in the subject line. Our lesson will begin promptly at noon. The lesson will be about 75-90 minutes. Sue will demonstrate patterns and techniques for you to follow along. During the last few minutes we'll share our creations and wrap-up. There are 2 sessions each month, on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays. At each session we'll follow the basic Zentangle method and explore a variety of themes and topics, often with new pattern introductions and techniques beyond the basics (e.g., shading, color, non-abstract, use of tinted papers, etc.) SUPPLIES NEEDED: Please provide a standard pencil, a fine tipped black marker, and paper on which to draw. Optional: Tortillion (blending stub), colored pencils, white and red fine tipped markers/pens. Pen recommendations: Sakura Pigma Micron 01; Uniball Vision Micro; Sharpie Fine (look for "**no-bleed**" on the package, solid black barrel). Paper: We usually work on a 3.5" square paper (called a "tile"). Good quality papers that work well are Strathmore Vellum Bristol, 95# or 140# water color paper, a "Mixed Media" sketchbook, 65# card stock. Recently I have often used a 4x6" blank index card. MONEY MATTERS Class is free, but donations are appreciated and encourage your instructor. Please use Paypal (sues1514@hotmail.com) or mail cash/check to Sue Schneider, 511 Bevington Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15221. Thank you for your support and encouragement. Suggested donation: $5-10 per class. Please feel free to invite friends. They will need to sign up as Meet-up members (it's free) and RSVP to this meeting in order to get the Zoom meeting link. Happy tangling to all, Sue Sue Schneider Certified Zentangle Teacher 412-636-6351 (new number) sue.schneider.artist@gmail.com

Humanist Program
Humanist Program
The Humanist Monthly Program is our longest running event and still a community favorite. In the old days it used to be called "Going to HCCO" and we still like to think of it as our flagship event. We will be hearing from Becca Powell, Director of Advocacy and Outreach at Unchained At Last, an organization whose mission is dedication to ending forced and child marriage in the United States through direct services and systems change. Unchained At Last's mission clearly meshes and addresses several of our Humanist Ten Commitments. Becca will educate us about an issue many of us may not be familiar with--but should be. Food and drinks will be provided at the event. Feel free to show up a little bit early to hang out and talk. Going forward our meetings will be hybrid. You can meet us in-person or attend online Join Zoom Meeting [https://us02web.zoom.us/j/87836564953?pwd=4Mi57ElZkDIFlb1fnlNwOJ0NiOK4tP.1](https://us02web.zoom.us/j/87836564953?pwd=4Mi57ElZkDIFlb1fnlNwOJ0NiOK4tP.1) Meeting ID: 878 3656 4953 Passcode: 760812 One tap mobile +19292056099,,87836564953#,,,,\*760812# US (New York) +13017158592,,87836564953#,,,,\*760812# US (Washington DC) The formal presentation will start at noon
Tour of Brothers Drake Meadery and mead/tea tasting
Tour of Brothers Drake Meadery and mead/tea tasting
Join us for a tour of Brothers Drake Meadery in Grandview, hosted by the owner Oron Benary. He will explain the mead-making process and offer us generous samples of their fine meads. Mead is basically wine that is made from honey instead of grapes. There are many different flavors that range from dry, semi-dry, semi-sweet, to sweet. They are best known for their Apple Pie Mead. Oron has offered us a special price of 5.00 each person for the tour and tasting, which is normally 25.00 per person. I've taken the tour several times, and it's always enlightening and fun. Rebecca will bring a tea that will pair well with the mead for a tea tasting afterwards. Park anywhere around the building. Please avoid parking in front of the houses in the neighborhood behind the Meadery. Please keep your RSVP current. Knowing how many will attend will help Brothers Drake plan accordingly to accommodate us.
