reviving gardans, Growing community
reviving gardans, Growing community
**Hands in the Soil: Community Growing, Learning & Craic** This first gathering will be a relaxed mix of **hands-on garden work, shared learning, and good conversation**. It’s about getting together in a real space, doing something practical, and seeing what ideas and connections might grow from there. On the day, we’ll: * Get our **hands dirty** with some light garden work and soil prep * Do some **seed sowing** and talk about what grows well locally * **Make kombucha together** and chat about fermentation, food, and simple home practices * Share knowledge, questions, and experiences around growing food * Enjoy some **fellowship, chats, and a bit of craic** along the way.Alongside the practical side, we’ll also have an open, informal discussion about a bigger idea: * The possibility of **small community “park farms” or gardens** in underused green spaces around Dublin * What that might look like, what’s realistic, and whether others feel drawn to exploring it further There’s no pressure, no expertise required, and no expectation beyond showing up with curiosity and a willingness to pitch in. Whether you’re experienced with gardening or completely new, you’re very welcome. Bring clothes you don’t mind getting muddy, and if you have them, gloves. Everything else will be very low-key. This is just a **first step** — a chance to meet, work, talk, and see if there’s a shared appetite to keep growing something together.

Bealtaine Ecstatic Fire Dance, Sacred Song & Tea, OUTDOORS, Dublin Mountains
Bealtaine Ecstatic Fire Dance, Sacred Song & Tea, OUTDOORS, Dublin Mountains
🌿✨️ B E A L T A I N E - Ecstatic Fire Dance, Sacred Song & Tea Ceremony We are back!! Honouring the vibrant fertility and pure magic of the earth as she blossoms and expands in all her glory. You are warmly invited Saturday, 3rd May, 6:30pm - 9:45pm to a potent BEALTAINE ceremony of dance, sacred song, and tea outdoors in nature with our leafy friends & the winged ones. ✨️ Together, we will weave ecstatic dance with Kirtan (call-and-response style chanting rooted in ancient Indian traditions), HeartSong, and a tea ceremony with locally foraged healing herbs, creating a powerful arc of embodied transformation through movement, heart and voice. Come celebrate this turning of the wheel, an immersion in joy, connection, and renewal deep within the spirit of the forest. 🤍 The dance guided by DJ Aidan Kavanagh will help release tension, emotional blockages, and mental chatter through free, intuitive movement. It bypasses the thinking mind and opens the body. Following this release, Kirtan & HeartSong gently guided by Felicity Ananda, invites us to reconnect & nourish our hearts and spirits through communal chanting & prayer & songs, inviting devotion & unity . The sequence is like a wave of voice and body reconnection ceremony. The meeting together of dance & mantra offers our nervous system a total reset from expressive release to calm centredness. Aidan's DJing is set after a heartopening hawthorn tea ceremony, where we will invite our intentions for the evening. Dance and heartsong can help further clarify & deepen our intentions. Music will be a mixture of ethnotronika, world, folktronica, hypnotic and heart opening beats. ✨️ No dance, singing or meditation experience is necessary. This is an OUTDOOR event. Please dress in layers and bring a blanket/yoga mat/cushion for your comfort. No car? No problem! You can message Felicity to join our Whatsap Carpooling group on 0894037056. Come along this Bealtaine, free your dancing body & singing soul & let's celebrate the lusciousness of the land & the expansion of these times together. Link in bio. Le croí, Aidan & Felicity \* Feel free to contact Aidan on 0876383781 or Felicity on 0894037056 for any further enquiries. * Parking is limited so carpooling is encouraged. You will be invited to join a carpooling whatsap group upon securing your ticket.

[FREE] 📵 The Offline Photo Walk 📸 | Liffey Landscapes & Architecture
**The perfect way to see Dublin through a new lens.** 🏙️✨ **We’re teaming up with our wonderful community member,** **Angie,** for a creative afternoon stroll as we capture the soul of the city—without the digital distractions 📵. This isn't about "the 'gram"; it's about the art of looking. We’re putting our phones on aeroplane mode and picking up our cameras to focus on the lines, light, and life along the River Liffey. Angie loves capturing the hidden details of the city, and she’ll be co-hosting this walk to help us all find those perfect angles and unique perspectives. 🥾 The Route: We’ll meet at the iconic **Samuel Beckett Bridge** and wind our way down the quays. We’ll be hunting for the best angles of Dublin’s architectural gems, including the **Custom House**, **Liberty Hall**, and the historic **Ha’penny Bridge**, where we will finish our journey. * **Duration:** Approximately 2 hours. * **The Finish Line:** For those who fancy a treat and a chat, we’ll head to **Cinnamood** on O’Connell Street afterwards for some coffee and their famous cinnamon rolls! ☕️🌀 *** 📵 The Vibe: Before we set off, we’ll tuck our "connected" selves away and chat while creating art! 📸 **Build Connection:** Even though we stay offline during the walk, the connection doesn’t end there! After the event, we’ll encourage everyone to share their favourite "snaps" of the day our **WhatsApp group**. It’s a lovely way to see how everyone saw the same city through different eyes. 🖼️🤝 *** 🕰️ The Schedule: * **12:30 \|** Meet at the Samuel Beckett Bridge. * **12:45 \|** Photo Walk begins. * **14:30 \|** Arrival at Ha'penny Bridge & optional coffee at Cinnamood. *** 🐥 What to bring: * **📷 Your Camera:** Whether it’s a professional DSLR, a film camera, or just your phone (strictly for photos—no scrolling!). * **👟 Comfortable Shoes:** We’ll be on our feet for about 2 hours. * **🌦️ Rain Gear:** It’s Dublin! Let's be prepared for all four seasons. * **💛 Yourself:** No "content" creation required, just your creative eye. You can also just come to socialise, we love those walks together! *** 🎟️ Tickets & Support: This walk is **free/donation-based**. We believe offline creative time should be accessible to everyone. If you’d like to support our mission and help us organise more of these events, any contribution is warmly welcomed! 💛 **⚠️ Liability:** *Please note that everyone is responsible for their own safety and personal possessions during the walk. Let’s look out for one another!* We can't wait to see the city through your eyes! ***Please do not worry if there are not many attendees on meetup - we also host our tickets on [Luma](https://luma.com/theofflineclubdublin) \- the events always happen\!*** **Hugs, The Offline Club Dublin**
Zazen Meditation + Dharma talk or Kinhin
Zazen Meditation + Dharma talk or Kinhin
The meaning of the word zen is meditation, zazen means sitting meditation. In zazen practice we begin to know ourselves, and to go beyond the limits of our personal ego. Within our tradition zazen is referred to as shikantaza, not doing, letting go of thoughts, dropping off body and mind. This sitting meditation is the focus of our practice. Language limits our ability to communicate the true nature of zen; it is something that is better understood through practice. We are open to everyone interested in learning about zen. Intro workshop for newcomers is available at 5.30pm each Sunday. The dojo is a sacred place and it is important to be considerate of everyone. We have many people that travel to practise together once a week or once a month. So for that reason it is really essential that we all know the structure of the sitting practise (when to sit, how to do Kinhin, the different bell sounds and their meaning etc), to ensure a silent, safe and meaningful meditation. And it's also great to meet everyone before the sitting practise. And answer any questions you may have. We have zafus and zabutons (mats and cushions) for all to sit on. Chairs are available too. Comfortable clothing for sitting, black or neutral tones best. We greatly appreciate a donation of €5 to cover costs if it's possible for you. Please arrive 10min before start so 6ish (if you're not doing the intro workshop). You are very welcome to our dojo!

CMG Gives Back: Serve Brunch at FAITH MISSION GRANT KITCHEN!
Join us as we get together to get together to help those in need at this CMG Gives Back event! We have a great little community of Movie Group friends so rather than see a movie this time, we’ll help “create a better world” by helping serve those in need. Here are complete details and our plan for this event: FAITH MISSION – GRANT KITCHEN: The Faith Mission kitchen and dining room serves residents 3 meals a day, every day of the year. For this event, our group will help prepare food, serve meals, assist residents in the dining room, wash dishes, and clean surfaces. PLAN: We will be preparing / serving / cleaning for BRUNCH from 10:30am to 12:30pm and have space for a total of 7 volunteers. Please arrive at 10:20am and wear closed-toe shoes and long pants. LOCATION: Faith Mission – Grant Kitchen is located at 245 N. Grant Ave. Enter the kitchen at Dock 1 (in the back of the building), indicated in the attached map. On-site parking in the adjacent lot and street parking is available in the surrounding area. Below are some links / attachments with additional info/details: IMPORTANT REMINDER: Our group will be providing all of the volunteers on this day so a firm RSVP count is essential. Please only sign up if you are certain you’ll be able to attend. If something unavoidable comes up, please try to update your RSVP no later than one week prior to the event. With few exceptions, no shows or cancelations within 1 week of the event will not be eligible for future CMG Gives Back events. I appreciate your understanding as we try to ensure the agencies have the volunteers needed to provide the essential services they provide to the vulnerable population they serve. Our Partner Agency for this event is Lutheran Social Services! A huge THANK YOU to all of YOU for volunteering at this (and any of our previous) CMG Gives Back events! Should be another good/fun/meaningful time together, Dan
