Hello everyone, I’m a photographer and documentary filmmaker, and after many years working in this field, I’ve recently felt the need to create smaller, more personal workshops where people can really learn by doing and take time to explore their creativity. **On April 11th and 12th,** I’m organizing a 2-day mobile phone photography workshop in **Brussels, Chatelain area** from **10:30 to 15:00** each day. We’ll spend the time learning how to use our phones more intentionally — working with light, composition, framing, and understanding how to get the most out of the camera settings and retouching apps as **snapseed and lightroom.** The approach is very practical, with a mix of indoor and outdoor exercises, so you can immediately apply what you learn. Price is **180 eur** per participant for **2 days workshop** with food included, if you bring a friend or you are a student there is a **15% discount.** The group will be small **(max 6-8 people)**, which makes it easier to exchange, ask questions, and get individual feedback. It’s also meant to be a relaxed and creative experience — we’ll take breaks, have some good food, and enjoy the process of seeing things differently through the camera. If you’re curious about photography, want to improve your images, or just feel like doing something creative for a couple of days, you’re very welcome to join.

**BIFF : Nirvanna - The Band - the Show - the Movie** 11/04 @ 19h30 If you’re a fan of the 2008 mockumentary web sitcom Nirvana the Band the Show, or its 2017 spiritual successor, Viceland’s Nirvanna the Band the Show — both about a couple of guys who just want to play a show at Toronto’s Rivoli — then prepare to fall in love with 2025’s big-screen version, Nirvanna the Band the Show the Movie. If you’re not at all familiar with the originals, but you know and/or love Back to the Future, that should be enough to guarantee you a good time at this almost-lawsuit-worthy homage/parody to the 1980s time travel classic. And if perchance you already love both Nirvanna and BTTF, then strap in, because when this movie hits 88 kilometres an hour… Like its small- and computer-screen predecessors, the film version stars its co-creators, Matt Johnson (also directing) and Jay McCarrol, playing fictionalized versions of themselves. Like their younger, spryer selves, all they want is to play at the Rivoli. (Thank heavens the century-old establishment exists in all three time periods.) They think they have a plan — OK, Matt thinks they have a plan; Jay has always played the cynical straight man — to gain notoriety (and a gig) by skydiving off the CN Tower and into the Rogers Centre. And, like every other one of their harebrained schemes, it almost works. Matt’s next great idea is to trick out their RV like the DeLorean from that other movie, with the time circuits built into the vehicle’s fridge. (Fun fact: Back to the Future’s original screenplay imagined a fridge rather than a car as the device for travelling through time.) He’ll trick the Rivoli’s management into letting them play there to save the spacetime continuum. Or something. Anyway, the plan fails because the time machine works, sending Matt and Jay back to the year 2008 and a collision course with themselves. Join us as we get together to get together to help those in need at this CMG Gives Back event! We have a great little community of Movie Group friends so rather than see a movie this time, we’ll help “create a better world” by helping serve those in need. Here are complete details and our plan for this event: FAITH MISSION – GRANT KITCHEN: The Faith Mission kitchen and dining room serves residents 3 meals a day, every day of the year. For this event, our group will help prepare food, serve meals, assist residents in the dining room, wash dishes, and clean surfaces. PLAN: We will be preparing / serving / cleaning for BRUNCH from 10:30am to 12:30pm and have space for a total of 7 volunteers. Please arrive at 10:20am and wear closed-toe shoes and long pants. LOCATION: Faith Mission – Grant Kitchen is located at 245 N. Grant Ave. Enter the kitchen at Dock 1 (in the back of the building), indicated in the attached map. On-site parking in the adjacent lot and street parking is available in the surrounding area. **Comedy Night + Open Mic + Freestyle**: Tristan Shae and friends return to entertain us and to warm the group up for our open mic session. February's Open Mic / Comedy Night was a smash hit and it's worth a second night. We'll start with Tristan Shae and a couple of his friends. Tristan is an alternative comic from Columbus, Ohio. A counselor by day, Tristan explores how comedy can improve mental health by telling jokes and stories that muse on how absurd life can be from squeaky clean topics to not so clean ones. Tristan produces the variety show Cheaper Than Therapy, hosts the weekly Problem Child Alt Comedy Open Mic at The Attic, and can be found engaging in all sorts of silliness around the city from stand up shows at The Nest Theater, The Attic, or The Funny Bone, to improv and sketch shows with various groups at various venues such as The Hashtag Comedy Club. **On Freestyle night** \- just bring a bottle to share\. When the blind girl and her grandmother fall behind in the rent and face eviction, he tries working and even enters a boxing competition to raise the money they need. Regarded as Chaplin's masterpiece, *City Lights* has been ranked on more than seventeen "100 greatest movies of all time" lists.
