Whether you’re an experienced event planner or just someone who loves connecting people, this is your chance to help create events, grow friendships, and make a real impact in Austin’s social scene.
**Why Become an Event Organizer**
Create meaningful connections and new friendships.
Share your interests, whether that’s hiking, live music, happy hours, or unique local adventures.
Gain valuable experience in leadership, teamwork, and event management.
Be part of a growing, positive community that’s all about getting offline and meeting in real life.
**Who Should Attend**
Anyone curious about hosting events, volunteering, or getting more involved with the group.
This is an informal, no-pressure meetup, come with questions, ideas, or just to see what it’s all about.
RSVP now to join our Meetup Leadership Info Session and learn how you can help build community, create connection, and make Austin a friendlier place, one event at a time.
Run/Walk WB - We meet at 6:30 and start running/walking at 6:40 sharp!!
**Come join our group of fun and fabulous friends!**
**Please note that is a dog friendly event!** We meet and socialize outside on the Whitestone Brewery patio which is completely open to our four-legged friends.
If you are looking to make new friends, you have come to the right place. And we offer an opportunity to get in some exercise. The exercise is a bonus and OPTIONAL! We want you to come hang out more than anything. Too cold or too hot or too whatever might keep you from exercising, but please just show up and honor us with your presence. And Whitestone Brewery has offered us Happy Hour pricing for this event!
We will meet at 6:30 pm on the patio of Whitestone Brewery to **start our Run/Walk at 6:40 pm**. Please come prepared if you are going to run or walk. It is always important to be hydrated. If you are new to the event, I will make sure you have a "veteran" to run/walk with on the course.
See you there,
Mike
6.6-mile Brushy Creek Regional Trail Evening Hike @ Cedar Park [🔦 Recommended!]
**IMPORTANT:** Due to construction at our previous meeting location which closed down the parking lot we've temporarily moved the starting location to **Brushy Creek Lake Park**. The relevant information has been updated to reflect this.
Join us for our **recurring** scenic **6.6-mile (10.6-km)** evening at the Brushy Creek Regional Trail in Cedar Park!
We’ll take a relaxed pace through one of the city’s most beautiful trails. The hike should take about **2 hours**.
**ℹ️ Additional info**
The purpose of this specific event is to have a recurring way for us to meet relatively easily. I want to make sure that recurring events are a "low effort" commitment, ie you don't have to drive 2 hours to get there. In the future once we have more organizers I plan to have more recurring events scheduled so we can cover a larger area.
Also, you may have noticed that **this event has an RSVP limit**. This is done for multiple reasons. Not only to ensure that a large group is not disruptive to the rest of the Austin community on the trail, but also to allow us to prioritize the "meetup" experience for every attendee, as having +60 people may be overwhelming, and ultimately the goal of this group is to build a community, not just a collection of individuals that like a specific trail.
**📍 Where to Meet**
2310 Brushy Creek Rd, Cedar Park, TX 78613
Google Maps **exact meeting spot link**:
https://maps.app.goo.gl/yAzHpoVQdXXAG3XD8
Route on **AllTrails**:
[Will be added in the future]
**🅿️ Parking**
Parking is available directly at the parking lot close to where we'll meet. There will be enough space for everyone.
**ℹ️ Recommendations**
* Bring good shoes (Although the terrain isn't challenging and relatively flat)
* Pack some water (More than you need, just in case)
* Bring a friend! (That's my attempt at a shameless self-promo for the group. Although even if you don't, I am confident that you'll get along great with the people you'll meet at the event!)
* A flashlight! Your phone is better than nothing, but a dedicated flashlight would only be of benefit of you as the sun sets!
**👍 Good to know**
* 🐶 Dog-friendly
* 👨👩👧 Family-friendly
* ♿ Wheelchair accessible
**Event Etiquette (Important!)**
* If you RSVP'd, but are unable to make it, please update your attendance as soon as possible. The attendance limit prevents new people from joining if we're at capacity otherwise. If we notice a pattern of you RSVPing to events and not showing up, you will be kicked from this group.
* Please show up on time. We will start right at the indicated event time. This is to respect everyones time. If you're a few minutes late, it should not be an issue as the "intro" to the event may take 15 minutes or so, but we will not delay the start until you get there.
* Other than that, I know all of you will help me make this group great for everyone. So thanks in advance for that!
**Event itinerary**
Below is the general outline of how the events are going to function
* Updates since last event
* Official introductions of everyone
* Icebreaker question
* The event itself
* After event:
* (As needed) Updates for next event(s)
* Exchange goodbyes
**🙂 I want your feedback!**
I am working on making this description as informative as possible, if anything is missing, you have any recommendations or there are errors/mistakes, please reach out to me, thanks!

The 13th Annual Keep Austin Agile Conference
**The world keeps changing. Fast. The question is whether your approach is.**
KAA 2026 is where Agile practitioners, leaders, and builders come to work through what's actually hard right now: delivering real value, building trust across teams, and figuring out where AI fits without losing the human system underneath it.
This isn't a theory conference. The speakers are doing the work.
Our keynote, **Kevin Koym**, has helped over 6,500 entrepreneurs across 42 countries build something real. He founded Tech Ranch Austin. He's seen what stalls people and what moves them. If you're building something, leading something, or still figuring out what comes next, his talk is worth your whole morning.
The rest of the lineup covers leadership, product, teams, and technology. Talks and workshops. Practitioners and executives. A room full of people who take this seriously.
**If that sounds like your kind of day, purchase tickets here:** [https://www.agileaustin.org/kaa-2026-ticket-info](https://www.agileaustin.org/kaa-2026-ticket-info)

Austin Smerconish Mingle Project Meetup 12
If you feel politically stuck in the middle between the clowns and the jokers, you’ve found the perfect Meetup group for you. Inspired by Michael Smerconish’s The Mingle Project, this group is a space for people who believe thoughtful conversation is still possible—and valuable—in today’s polarized world. Inspired by the spirit of open inquiry and civil debate, this group strives to bring together people of all political viewpoints, all generations, and backgrounds who are interested in listening as much as speaking.
The Mingle Project is a group for anyone who wants to get out of the house and connect with others in a thoughtful, relaxed setting. We’re not a political organization, and we’re not here to advocate or activate. And although we discuss current events and politics—so long as it’s civil, respectful, and rooted in curiosity rather than conflict, we often find ourselves talking about other interesting topics as we get to know each other.

Humanist Program
The Humanist Monthly Program is our longest running event and still a community favorite. In the old days it used to be called "Going to HCCO" and we still like to think of it as our flagship event.
We will be hearing from Becca Powell, Director of Advocacy and Outreach at Unchained At Last, an organization whose mission is dedication to ending forced and child marriage in the United States through direct services and systems change. Unchained At Last's mission clearly meshes and addresses several of our Humanist Ten Commitments. Becca will educate us about an issue many of us may not be familiar with--but should be.
Food and drinks will be provided at the event. Feel free to show up a little bit early to hang out and talk.
Going forward our meetings will be hybrid. You can meet us in-person or attend online

Men of Unity: A Circle for Strength, Spirit & Connection
**Men of Unity** is a safe, welcoming space for men to connect, share, and grow together. In this circle, we explore what it means to live with purpose, integrity, and spiritual awareness in today’s world.
Through open dialogue, reflection, and mutual support, we learn to balance strength with compassion, confidence with humility, and action with mindfulness. Each gathering may include:
* Open discussion on real-life challenges and victories
* Guided reflection, prayer, or meditation
* Encouragement for living from truth, not fear
* Tools for emotional and spiritual growth
No preaching. No pressure. Just real men, real conversations, and real transformation.
