Ragland served as Vice-Chair of the City of Alexandra (VA) Planning Commission and Board of Zoning Appeals; Chairman of the Prince George's County (MD) Chamber of Commerce, Chairman of the City of Bowie (MD) Economic Development Committee and Chairman of the Bowie (MD) Business Innovation Center (Bowie BIC). He is a member of the faculty of the Bowie State University College of Business and a member of the Board of Visitors of Towson University. Ragland has been directly involved in the development, marketing sales, and management of over 5,000 acres of land, 10 million square feet of office and commercial space, and 10,000 apartment/cond units. Cada reunión es dirigida por el Toastmaster de la noche, es decir el maestro de ceremonias de ese día, se divide 3 partes principales en cada sesión: (1) Discursos preparados: por lo general son de 2 a 4 discursos, presentados por alguno de nuestros miembros. Es un speech diferente cada noche y creado por cada orador. (2) Improvisados: es la parte de la noche donde retamos a los asistentes a pasar adelante e improvisar, cada persona tiene 2 minutos para hablarnos sobre un tema al azar, por lo general pasan 4 o 5 personas. (3) Evaluación: es la parte más importante de la noche en la cual todos los participantes reciben retroalimentación sobre los aspectos positivos y las oportunidades de mejora. ------- ¿Qué significa Toastmasters? Toastmasters es una palabra en inglés que se podría traducir como "el maestro del brindis", dado que "Toast" se traduce como brindar, hace referencia a esas personas que están en un evento social y se les pide realizar un brindis delante de todos los asistentes. Hoy en día usamos el término para referirnos a la persona que dirige toda la sesión de la noche. ------- ¿Cuantas personas asisten cada noche? Entre 20 a 50 personas, depende el día. ------- A mí me da mucho miedo hablar en público, levantar la mano y pasar al frente, ¿Puedo asistir solo para ver cómo funciona? **The Data-Driven Brand: Using Analytics to Shape Perception** Can you use analytics to improve tacos? This being CBUSDAW, we think the answer is probably “yes”, but we’re not sure how to implement or test this theory. For our April meetup we’ve got Sara Kear, CMO of Condado Tacos, to investigate this delicious question. Sara will explore how she blends quantitative data and qualitative customer feedback to shape brand positioning and drive business decisions. We all know that marketing and analytics go way beyond attribution. Sara will show how Condado uses customer insights to inform product and pricing strategy. She’ll also highlight how Condado leverages customer feedback at scale to influence operational priorities, positioning marketing as the voice of the customer across the organization. In the last 12 years Condado has gone from one location in Columbus to 52 locations across 10 states, so we’re guessing there’s more to that growth than really good guac (though the guac probably helps).
