I'm launching my independently-published, ***Field Journal: Mindfulness in Nature - Europe***, a guided pocket journal for slow walkers, quiet watchers, and anyone who finds peace in the natural world, and I'd love to celebrate it with you! **How the afternoon flows:** 1: Arrive, settle in & mingle Help yourself to a few sweet and savory snacks, bring your own drink (and snacks), and get to know the people around you. No rush. 2: The journal: its story & how to use it We'll explore the journal together — where it came from, what inspired it, and how to make it your own out in nature. 3: Colour, write & doodle Choose a bird or nature colouring page and settle in. There will be a basic talk about things to look for and specific things to shoot for each objective. * We will go over the map and then spend time walking the route stopping and shooting in each area. We will be walking for a total of about 2 hours. The main focus of the workshop is to learn about and gain more confidence shooting street photography with the bonus of exploring and seeing some interesting spots around Barcelona. * Once we're finished the route we will meet at a cafe (if we want!) to speak about the objectives, answer any questions and close with any comments or remarks 20 minutes. * In total we will spend about 2.5 hours in this street photography workshop. Other things to note * You should know the basics of photography and how your camera works. The topic for April is "Water" Speak Easy: true stories, told live. The idea is simple: an audience, an open microphone, and great stories. Hilarious, gripping, poignant- it's up to you. Audiences are invited to come to listen or come to tell as folks from all corners of Columbus offer their stories live on stage! Held at Wild Goose Creative's warm, intimate space, this night of tales occurs on the 3rd Thursday of every month. Doors open at 6:30 pm, show starts at 7:00 pm. Please arrive early if you want to tell, as we generally only have room for a limited number of tellers, and the sign-up sheet has a tendency to fill up fast. Formed around the idea that people need stories--they're what hold and draw us together--SpeakEasy celebrates the strangeness and commonness of being human. And in a world of smartphones, Facebook, Twitter, and more . . . it gives people a real, breathing, in-person way to connect. The night is geared for true stories of all kinds, taking the best tales told around kitchen tables, in darkened pubs, on the street corner, and at late-night parties and giving them an audience. Speak Easy is also a great outlet for performers, writers, and artists looking to share their favorite stories and perfect their skills. We strongly encourage tellers to please tell the story rather than read it so we keep within the spirit of good storytelling and stay engaged with the audience. All are welcome.
