Drawing from observation teaches you how co-ordinate the eye and hand, and working from the nude model is the most rewarding kind of drawing. A set of taught classes will explain fundamental aspects of drawing the figure, and give tips and show tricks of exploring the materials, methods and approaches to rendering the figure on paper. This class is suitable for everyone- from beginners just starting off on their drawing journey, to more experienced people who want to build up their skills set. Basic techniques are outlined in every class, and then more complex exercises are explored. Drawing exercises take place in an easy, informal setting. Steeped in history! The Gobbins is a 3 mile path along a dramatic cliff face which includes spectacular tubular and suspension bridges, a staircase, Caves and tunnels carved through the rock - providing the absolute best views of the rugged North Coast. We are organizing this event for people that want to explore their creativity and practice expressing themselves through drawing. The event contains a variety of small games and exercises to connect with others in a fun and original way. A lot of times we find ourselves stuck with a problem or thought, either consciously or unconsciously. Being able to draw or doodle about it can often help. When I felt stuck in life, it gave me a lot of inspiration to draw how I felt. It was always a creative and refreshing way of structuring my problem and looking at it from a different perspective. I’m now looking forward to practicing more of this. I will bring paper and pens, that we need for the exercises. Feel free to bring your own drawing tools (colors, sketchbooks, pencils, etc.). Planning a relaxed Saturday walk from Donabate into Newbridge Demesne, followed by a coffee and a chat in the café. If people are up for it afterwards, we can head back into Donabate village for an optional pint. This is just an easy, social walk - nothing intense, just a good way to get out, stretch the legs and meet a few new people. **Meeting options (pick one):** Public transport: Meet outside Donabate Train Station (main entrance) at 14:30 sharp. We’ll leave from there and walk together. Driving: Head straight to Newbridge House & Farm car park and be there for around 14:55–15:00. It’s about 8 minutes to the Donabate gate entrance, then another 15 minutes through the park to the car park where we’ll meet anyone driving. After that, we’ll do a relaxed loop around the grounds for about an hour, then stop off for coffee and a chat. If you’re running late, just head straight to the car park and we’ll catch up there.
