Dance-Movement Therapy is a somatic practice that uses spontaneous movement as a way of self-exploration. This workshop offers a gentle introduction to the principles of dance-movement therapy. It is not a dance class and not a fitness session. There are no steps to learn and no choreography to follow. Participants are guided through simple movement and awareness exercises, sometimes individually and sometimes in interaction with others. The focus is on listening to the body, noticing impulses, and allowing movement to arise naturally. Through this process, participants may experience greater grounding, emotional awareness, and nervous system regulation. The atmosphere is supportive and non-judgmental. The intention is to create a safe and accessible space for exploration, not therapy. No previous movement experience is required. Facilitated by Marie Vejvodova, who completed a 4.5-year certified professional training in dance-movement therapy. She continues to deepen her education in somatic and self-development approaches in the Czech Republic and abroad. We are a group of runners who meet most weeks for a run around the beautiful Vltava River's edge. You can bring your running shoes straight from the office/home office if you don't have time to stop at home. There will be a place to put your bags in the Cafe. We will run about 9 km along the river and have a drink afterwards. Paces vary! We will meet in the square near Kavarna Liberal (Hermanova 6), near the Vltavska metro/tram stop at 6:30 on Wednesday. This week is Twos-day on a Wednesday. Bring your favorite 2 player games and be ready to teach some and learn others. We'll bounce around and get to know new people and new games. Think speed dating but without the stress, romance or dating! And we don't judge, if you'd prefer to stick to bigger games by all means, go for it! The Forge does have a full bar and kitchen. There is no cover charge but they do request all attendees to purchase a minimum of ~$20 per person. Soft drink refills are $1 each. Please support our hosts so we can continue to provide great events for the group! The Forge has a large library of games available for us to enjoy. Hosts and regulars will also provide numerous popular games but please bring any games you would like to teach and/or play. Doors open at 6, and we expect gaming to be rolling by around 630. Please promptly end your games and clear out the space at 10pm when the bar closes. We encourage socializing but do not permit disruptive behavior of any kind. There is a parking lot behind the neighboring Mexican restaurant that is free and easy to walk from but it's a bit hidden.

While some are still meeting online, this is an in person event. Please note that we have attendees of all levels of speaking, including some native speakers. All are welcome! Also, as we meet at the same time and place each week, many don’t RSVP on the app, so we will likely have more attendees than noted here. Join us for a night of board gaming with FANG (Fem All Night Gaming). **We are an all fem board game group** in Columbus, Ohio. No cis-men, please! We play modern hobby board games! If you're unsure what that is, we can teach you! We'll be meeting on the second floor of Giant Eagle in their cafe area. Giant Eagle has a lot of food and beverage options including their hot foods bars. You are also welcome to bring in any outside food.
