It is a place for the recreation of tens of thousands of local residents as well as the home of protected flora and fauna and the site of the early Slavic fortress settlement “Zámka”. Sadly, this unique natural and cultural landscape just 6 km from Prague Castle is doomed by the city planners to disappear forever under a trans-european six-lane motorway. You may wonder, is it really necessary? Will it improve the traffic congestion in Prague? Are there cheaper, more effective and less environmentally damaging alternatives? On this walk, I will try to answer these questions while showing you around my favourite places. DIFFICULTY: Easy to Medium 8km/5 miles mostly on unpaved trails. Let's play badminton at Sports Centre Olšanka. We'll meet at 10.40 and play for 60 minutes. If you have a Multisport card please bring it along, as it will make the court free for you and also reduce the cost for others. If you don't have a Multisport card the game will cost you a maximum of 150 crowns, probably much less. I will cover the cost of the court so please bring cash to pay me.
