This month we bring you a seminar from the host of Prague's famous Cafe Philo, Albert Hoffman, entitled **“Paths in the Wood”**. In this seminar, we'll be exploring **the later writings of Martin Heidegger** where he explores **our relationship to time, connection to place, and the very question of what it means to exist**. The relationship between Heidegger and the Black Forest in south-western Germany, the landscape in which he produced many of his most famous works, was one of intense emotional and intellectual intimacy. From the small, three-room cabin–which he affectionately called "die Hütte”-- **the forest becomes a strong metaphor for a way of thinking that moves more slowly and attentively than the technological mindset of modernity.** Heidegger’s later philosophy shifts away from the technical language of Being and Time toward a more meditative style of thinking. **What does it mean to “dwell”? Why does Heidegger so often write about forests, paths, clearings, and huts? And what might these metaphors reveal about his critique of modern technological society?** Whether you are new to Heidegger or already familiar with his work, join us for a discussion of how philosophy can help us reconsider our relationship to nature, place, and the way we inhabit the world. \*\*\* We’ll have tea and light snacks, but please feel free to bring any drink or snack you’d like to share! Hi All, Come and join us for social running and a coffee! We meet at the main gate of Vystaviste - tram stop Vystaviste Holesovice. We will run in Stromovka. Usually we run around 50mins and it is up to everyone how many kilometres. We welcome all levels of runner. We can all run together or, if there is more of us, we can split into groups and at the end of the run we all meet close to the starting point to go for a coffee to a nice local coffee place (where they also sell cakes and great chocolate). If the weather is great, we can also just sit in one of the outside coffee placces in Stromovka and enjoy the sun. As we learn, we hope to connect more with the Deaf community in Central Ohio. Join us as you're able! Come regularly or just once - whatever you're looking for! We practice, dance, and enjoy a BYOB bottle of your favorite wine at the Dublin Ballroom off Sawmill, North, and “milonga” is a social event for tango dancing where dancers socialize. A “*practica*” is an informal social event for tango dancing where dancers focus on practicing the dance; while a “*practilonga*” combines the relaxed atmosphere of a “*practica*” with the format of a “milonga.” We are doing it all! ***Cost is $10 payable to the Teacher.*** *Cost is for the cost of the venue and covers some snacks.* We have had fun doing this event in the past. Please arrive promptly as lessons begin at 2pm. Don't worry about bringing a partner as there will be others at the event from outside the group that: a) might have a clue and b) won't step on your toes. The event is BYOB (similar to our Salsa events), so bring your favorite and a wine glass. We will likely find a place for dinner and drinks after the dance.
