We have a new program running on Thursdays 8:00pm-9:30pm from March 26th until May 28th: Casino Rueda! Also known as Rueda de Casino, this is a Cuban salsa dance style where a group of couples form a circle and execute synchronized salsa moves under the direction of a "caller". The classes are progressive, so we'll be looking for a commitment through payment for all classes, but please come join us for your first on March 26th and decide if you'd like to stay for the rest! Hi everyone. Nathan Phillips Square is playing host to Canadian Latin Fest 2026 on Sunday, 12 April. Through music, food, dance and performance, it celebrates Canadian Latin culture, which I am sure we can all agree, is very vibrant in the city. The event starts at noon with opening remarks and some dignitary speeches. **MEET TIME:** 12:00 noon for our own opening remarks and intros. According to the schedule, the performances are (mostly) over by 3pm. **MEETING SPOT:** in the covered area between Hero Burger and the skate rental shop. **Note:** For those wanting to come a bit later, I will check back at the meeting spot after the first parade ( approx. 1 pm) According to their schedule, the first of two parades steps off at 12:40pm. (The parades are new and I believe they will be quite short and take place within the square.) Whatever your photo interests might be, I am sure there will be lots of ops, not only as part of the festival but also all around City Hall. On a side note, I anticipate putting together meetups in the future, likely during the week when the days are longer, that will offer an element of instruction. The idea is to have willing experienced photographers lead small groups of beginners or those looking to improve their photography skills and/or knowledge of their DSLR or mirrorless. For Sunday's meetup, I think everyone would want to shoot the parade(s)/performances on their own but if there are people interested/willing, they could team up for an hour of guided shooting at some point during the day. I put my name forward as someone who would be happy to lead a group. We will have more discussion about the instructional meetups on Sunday. The weather is looking to be dry and 'comfortably' chilly. Hogtown Hash House Harriers (HH3) is a Toronto social running and beer drinking group, with runs happening every other Saturday, plus one Thursday and one Friday per month. We start at different locations across the city, run as a group, and typically end at a local pub where we continue to socialize. Expect plenty of laughs, songs, quirky traditions, and a beer stop or two along the way. Walkers and non-beer drinkers are also welcome! HH3’s Saturday run is typically 5-8 km, with a shorter trail for walkers. Meet and greet is at 5pm to start run around 5:30pm. Date / Time: Saturday April 11, 5pm Start Location: Thirsty & Miserable, 2102 Dundas St W. TTC to Start: Dundas West Station, then walk south and east a li'l bit Cost: $10 for drinkers, $2 for non-drinkers, paid at start of trail. Note: Most of our regular members do not use Meetup, so you can expect to meet more people than those who RSVPd here.
