All Out of Bubblegum Film Club 136 / Perfect Blue
Perfect Blue (Japanese: パーフェクトブルー, Hepburn: Pāfekuto Burū) is a 1997 Japanese animated psychological thriller film directed by Satoshi Kon. It is loosely based on the novel Perfect Blue: Complete Metamorphosis (パーフェクトブルー:完全変態, Pāfekuto Burū: Kanzen Hentai) by Yoshikazu Takeuchi, with a screenplay by Sadayuki Murai. Featuring the voices of Junko Iwao, Rica Matsumoto, Shiho Niiyama, Masaaki Okura, Shinpachi Tsuji and Emiko Furukawa, the plot follows a member of a Japanese idol group who retires from music to pursue an acting career. As she becomes a victim of stalking by her obsessive fan, gruesome murders take place, and she begins losing her grip on reality. The film deals with the blurring of the line between fantasy and reality, a commonly found theme in Kon's other works, such as Millennium Actress (2001), Paranoia Agent (2004), and Paprika (2006). The film garnered critical acclaim and is now regarded as a masterpiece of animation and one of the best anime films of all time.

The House of Lords has been a source of debate here in the UK for many years. With the country split between those who view lords as a pool of technical experts, business leaders and ultimate check / review for an elected government and those who view it as a wholly unelected, undemocratic problem that needs to abolished to create true democratic representation in the UK.
Currently The Hereditary Peers bill is going through which aims to remove the last 92 hereditary peers and over 1000 years of British political tradition. BUT is tradition something to be held on to or should we be constantly looking for new ways to work in a modern world.

**What We Do**
3v3 panel debate where our members explore the strongest arguments for a given topic.
A debate should tell the audience what they need to know and not just what the speakers think. If you feel the same way, then we want to meet you.
Debate London is the year-round series of free public debates held weekly at venues across the capital. The series is run by Debate London, a social enterprise that helps its members to advance their personal and professional development by teaching them how to debate.
All of our speakers are [Debate London members](https://www.debate.london/plans "https://www.debate.london/plans") who have agreed to defend a particular perspective the audience need to hear, rather than just share their own personal opinion. After presenting the point of view assigned to them, the audience are then given the floor to cross-examine them and share their own position.
The only time we hear what the speakers really think is at the end of the debate when they tell us where they really stand and whether this changed at all while learning how to defend the perspective assigned to them.
**After Debate Social**
After all of our debates we have a post debate hang-out. This is a chance for our community to get to know new people, explore new ideas and generally have more fun as a club! Come along and join us for a post-debate social!

The fantastic leisure centre at Marshall Street in Soho, London. These facilities are perfect for our group as it is very central and the facility has just been refurbished. These facilities are perfect for any introduction to diving. The pool depths range from 1 metre to 3 metres which is sufficient for all diving training requirements. Our central London dive courses take place just behind London's iconic Carnaby Street in the state-of-the-art £38m Marshall Street leisure centre, containing arguably the finest pool in central London.
This 30m long pool gives students tonnes of room to swim around in, practice their skills and fine tune their buoyancy. The pool is constantly heated to 27 degrees celsius and has a study conference room.

PADI DISCOVER SCUBA - £60.00
A try dive is also available which is a taster dive so you can briefly experience being underwater with the equipment. Have ever wondered what it's like to breathe underwater? This is an ideal way of experiencing the under water world without having to commit to a PADI course like for example the PADI Open Water. You will be assisted by excellent qualified instructors who are trained to offer you the best experience and make you feel comfortable in the water allowing you to enjoy the experience. During the scuba diving try dive experience you'll learn how to use scuba equipment in a warm pool and get a quick and easy introduction to what it takes to explore the underwater world.
There is nothing like breathing underwater for the very first time. It is the perfect preparation for the PADI Open Water Course. You learn the basics you need to dive under the direct supervision of one of our PADI Professionals. Learn what wearing scuba equipment feels like and how easy it is to glide around underwater while wearing it.
Learn some basic skills and safety rules that will carry over to your full scuba certification course when you take the next step. All the equipment you will need is included in a Discover Scuba Diving experience.
PADI REFRESHER DIVE/REVIEW - £100.00
If you are looking to go on holiday soon and have not dived for over a year then you will want to consider completing a scuba diving refresher course. This course will give you the confidence again prior to any planned holiday. If you haven’t dived for a while, or are a bit apprehensive about getting back in the water and want to freshen up your skills then a PADI Scuba Review is for you. Most dive centres around the world will insist that you complete a Scuba Review if you haven't dived for 12 months or longer. The course normally takes 3-4 hours. Please remember to bring along your PADI certification card and log book.
PADI REACTIVE – This is the full PADI Refresher which includes refreshing of the theory as well. This is available at £175.00 and includes refreshing of all the dive skills and also the PADI theory refresh.
POOL SESSION - £30.00
If you are looking to just spend time in the water and you are already qualified as PADI Open Water then you can join us for this session and spend time in the pool testing out kit and practicing. This way you will not have the pressure of group holiday diving and you can have around 1 hour 30 minutes to do what you want.
If you want to undertake any of the above dives then RSVP and let me know which dive you want. All dives will need to be booked in by us and paid for so payment will be requested prior to the event itself once dive has been confirmed.

**How does it work?**
The Spanglish club is for all people wanting to improve their Spanish outside of a class room. Depending on numbers, there are going to be groups of max 6 people, the groups will be Beginners (A2), Intermediate and Advance. Each group will have a Spanish native speaker who can help you with your Spanish :) We will first meet our table amig@s and socialise, then we will make a fun and interesting activity for you to have a better Spanish speaking experience. Please book only if you are 100% sure to attend as there will be other Spanglishers waiting for you.

Durante todas nuestras sesiones, aprenderemos canciones de la tradicionales de Latino América y España (en Castellano principalmente). No es necesario hablar el idioma para entrar al coro!
El proceso de aprendizaje es "a oído". Se entregan letras y traducciones de las canciones, y ocasionalmente partituras si alguna pieza está escrita formalmente.

MUSEUM LATES FOR DATES: Straight & LGBTQIA+ singles night | National Gallery
**A fresh take on dating for straight and LGBTQIA+ singles in their 30s, 40s and 50s, brought to you by LoMAZ. We visit a different museum on the last Friday of each month, before heading to the pub.**
This month, join us for a relaxed evening of conversation and connections at the **National Gallery**. It's just like a usual LoMAZ event except for one thing: everyone there will be single.

**6.00pm - 6:30pm: Meet and greet in
the foyer of the main “Sainsbury Wing”Entrance of the National Gallery.**

**7.00 - 8.00pm: Explore the museum**
* We'll then explore the museum together. Hosts will always be there to chat to.
**8.30pm - late:** **Head to the pub.**
* We'll carry on the evening in a nearby pub. ***Venue can be found in the event comments (visible only to members who have RSVP'd to this event).***
* As this is a free event we won't have a private space, but will aim to have a few tables reserved. So please expect some standing and mingling.

Option 1 (and the one I'll be seeing) is the top-reviewed comedy-drama, THE CHRISTOPHERS! The film is set in the art world and follows the estranged children of a former artist who hire a forger. It is directed by Steven Soderberg, stars Ian McKellen and Michaela Coel and has been earning rave reviews on the indie circuit. Option 2 is the latest action-thriller starring Bob Odenkirk, NORMAL! COUNT RMH Housewarmer Volunteering (Ronald McDonald House)
Some trained COUNT volunteers work together once a month at RMH (http://www.rmhc-centralohio.org/volunteer.php) as Housewarmers (usually on the 1st Sunday from 1 – 5 PM). Some schedule other shifts at their convenience. You may try this out with less fuss by following a "Fast track" or go through the normal process.
Fast track
• Arrange a time to shadow a COUNT volunteer. Call Dave Nohle at 614-268-9558 (cell).
• Show up and try it out.
• Complete application, etc. later.
Normal process
• Complete an online application (http://rmhc-centralohio.org/volunteer/).
• Attend orientation in advance.
• At orientation you will complete forms agreeing to keep family/patient info private and allowing a background check and tour the facility.
• Complete one training shift. Daily shifts are: morning 9 AM - 1 PM, afternoon 1 - 5 PM and evening 5 - 9 PM.
• Schedule shifts online using the on the RMH scheduling system (http://www.volgistics.com/ex/portal.dll/?FROM=32895).
The Ronald McDonald House (RMH) provides housing and meals for families with sick children. The Columbus RMH is the largest in the world with 137 rooms. COUNT has been volunteering there since May 2014.
Housewarmers work with RMH guests to provide a home-like environment - greet, assist with family needs, answer phones, give tours, assist with checkin/checkout, prepare guest rooms after checkout, clean facility, laundry, restock supplies and staff the front desk. RMH Housewarmers volunteer at least one four-hour shift a month. All Housewarmers must complete an application and agree to a background check before they can be full fledged volunteers.

DESCRIPTION: The film follow’s Miranda Priestly's struggle against Emily Charlton, her former assistant turned rival executive, as they compete for advertising revenue amidst declining print media.
