Cada reunión es dirigida por el Toastmaster de la noche, es decir el maestro de ceremonias de ese día, se divide 3 partes principales en cada sesión: (1) Discursos preparados: por lo general son de 2 a 4 discursos, presentados por alguno de nuestros miembros. Es un speech diferente cada noche y creado por cada orador. (2) Improvisados: es la parte de la noche donde retamos a los asistentes a pasar adelante e improvisar, cada persona tiene 2 minutos para hablarnos sobre un tema al azar, por lo general pasan 4 o 5 personas. (3) Evaluación: es la parte más importante de la noche en la cual todos los participantes reciben retroalimentación sobre los aspectos positivos y las oportunidades de mejora. ------- ¿Qué significa Toastmasters? Toastmasters es una palabra en inglés que se podría traducir como "el maestro del brindis", dado que "Toast" se traduce como brindar, hace referencia a esas personas que están en un evento social y se les pide realizar un brindis delante de todos los asistentes. Hoy en día usamos el término para referirnos a la persona que dirige toda la sesión de la noche. ------- ¿Cuantas personas asisten cada noche? Entre 20 a 50 personas, depende el día. ------- A mí me da mucho miedo hablar en público, levantar la mano y pasar al frente, ¿Puedo asistir solo para ver cómo funciona? Sí, tranquil@, no te obligamos a hablar frente a la cámara, la idea es que vuelvas, sabemos los nervios que se producen cuando hablas frente a un público. Todos estuvimos alguna vez como invitados y volvimos. ------- ¿Qué experiencia tienen los oradores del Club? We will be hearing from Becca Powell, Director of Advocacy and Outreach at Unchained At Last, an organization whose mission is dedication to ending forced and child marriage in the United States through direct services and systems change.
