The George provides the room free of charge (they are awesome), and we encourage you to purchase drinks (and food – the burgers are great!). As it’s a pub and not a picnic area, please don’t consume your own food and drink there.
We usually meet in the Talbot room which is on the top floor on the left hand side of the pub as viewed from the courtyard. If lost please send a message here shortly before the meeting starts.
**We are sorry to say that there is no step-free access to the Talbot room, and it is at the end of three flights of stairs.**
**Format**
We start at 7pm and run until 9pm. We hear approximately six readings of 10 minutes (\~2000 words), then discuss the piece for 10 minutes. Email your work to: london60transmitter@emailitin.com as an attachment (It must be an attachment). A link for access to googledocs will be given at the start of each session to enable people to read along, which in turn enables more considered feedback. Work submitted will be automatically deleted after 10 days. We decide on readers/pieces at the beginning of each session.
**Safe and respectful space**
The group is run by volunteers, and we don’t have the capacity to read submitted work in advance. If there is anything in your work that might distress or disturb some readers, for example concerning any kind of abuse, please give a trigger warning before you read. Be specific and concise. If it becomes apparent during a reading that a piece is inappropriate, the moderator will stop the reading. In discussing others’ work, please be mindful of how you express yourself and do not use discriminatory language, even if such language features in the piece.
Let's meet up and speak English in Kings Cross!
This is a mini-group class for a small number of English students (minimum 2, maximum 4) so that everyone gets lots of opportunity to speak and be corrected. We switch topics as the conversation flows, so that you can get used to talking about a variety of subjects and build your confidence, grammar and vocabulary. The atmosphere is fun and friendly and you'll meet new people to practice with. Look forward to seeing you there!

Talk: Clocking Longitude, Master clockmaker John Harrison
Meet out front at ten to 1pm (12:50) and go in together
Join Lester Hillman for a talk about John Harrison, master clockmaker.
I have long been fascinated by historic issues with measuring longitude. Rather important for ships to know where they had sailed to! This problem couldn't be solved until clocks were accurate enough, and capable of functioning aboard ships.
Please join me. RSVP as soon as you know, I still need to request more tickets. The attendance fee is £2.50, thank you.

**About PRS for Music**
PRS for Music is a UK organisation that represents songwriters, composers, and music publishers. Its primary role is to **collect and distribute royalties** when music is performed in public.
This includes music played on the **radio, TV, streaming services, live concerts, venues, shops, and online platforms**. PRS ensures that the people who write and compose the music are **fairly paid whenever their work is used**.
By licensing music to businesses and organisations, PRS collects these fees and **pays the royalties directly to its members**, helping creators earn income from their songs.
**During the session**, PRS experts will guide us through three essential topics, each explored in depth with time for questions and discussion:
🎤 **Live Revenue**
Learn how songwriters and performers earn money when their music is played live. This section will explain how live performances generate royalties, how setlists are reported, and how to make sure you’re receiving the income you’re entitled to.
📲 **Money from Streaming**
Streaming has transformed the music industry, but understanding how revenue flows can be confusing. This segment will explore how royalties from streaming platforms work, how payments are calculated, and what artists can do to maximise their earnings.
🎧 **An Introduction to PPL**
This introduction to **PPL** will explain the role of neighbouring rights and how performers and recording rightsholders get paid when their recordings are broadcast or played in public.

LondonJamSessions x TAM MIC DROP (Chord Flow) #34
I am proud to announce that we having our jam at the Temple Of Art & Music in Elephant & Castle!!
Chord Flow:
A structured improvisation session where players explore a shared chord progression and key, creating music organically in the moment.
Lineup (on stage together):
• 2 guitarists
• 1 bass
• 1 drummer
• 1–2 singers
• 1 additional instrument (sax, trumpet, percussion, etc.)
How It Works:
1. A simple chord progression and its key are written on a whiteboard opposite the stage.
2. The group has 5 minutes on stage to explore the progression together.
3. Tempo, time signature, style, and chord changes are left open — the music’s direction is determined by the group.
4. When the timer starts, the music begins. Musicians respond to each other in real time, building the flow organically.
5. No planning or discussion — focus on listening, reacting, and creating a shared musical experience.
6. After 5 minutes, the group rotates and a new set of musicians begin.
The Temple Of Art and Music is a live music venue and bar in Elephant & Castle so I encourage anyone attending to bring friends as it will be great fun for them even if they are not playing.
The venue has a PA system, drum kit, mics and guitar/bass amps.
There is no guarantee that there will be cymbals or drum accessories with the drum kit at the venue. Drummers please being your own if you can.
Like all our other jams it will be a chance to jam with other musicians playing the music that you love in a gentle environment with no judgement and no pressure. This jam also uniquely gives the opportunity to play in front of a crowd!
Tickets are **£10 online** message us let us know what instrument you play and we will confirm if there is space and send you the Eventbrite link for the jam.
Please do not hesitate to contact me for more information about this jam and London Jam Sessions.
At London Jam Sessions we have an active community on WhatsApp where we all discuss the upcoming jams and future events. Everyone in the community is encouraged to ask questions and bring forward new ideas. Dm me and I can add you to our Whatsapp group.
Agents building systems. Humans orchestrating them.
Agents are writing code, running workflows, and building other agents.
The challenge isn’t basic functionality. It’s getting these systems to operate predictably in production, and integrating them into how teams build and ship software.
This session covers both.
From a production lens: how to build agentic systems using spec-driven development, structured context, and evaluation loops that hold up at scale.
From a human lens: what breaks when agents become collaborators. Ownership, coordination, and how teams actually adapt.
Speakers:
**Clifton Cunningham**
**Member of Technical Staff, [guidemode.dev](https://guidemode.dev/?utm_source=luma) \| Former CTO at DailyMail\, Infinitas Learning\, TES Global**
Clifton will explore what happens when AI agents become part of your team. Drawing on experience leading large-scale engineering organisations, he’ll unpack the human, cultural, and operational challenges of working alongside AI colleagues.
**Alfonso Graziano**
**AI Tech Lead\, Nearform \| Author of *AI-Native Software Engineering***
Alfonso will walk through how to build agents that build and maintain other agents. A practical, production-focused session covering spec-driven development, context engineering, evaluation loops, and how to make agentic systems reliable at scale.
Join us for pizza, drinks, and practical AI insights.

Prompt vs. Paintbrush
AI is changing how art is made. But when does it stop being your work and start being the machine’s?
This month we're going to be doing a panel with with digital image, music, and written word artists, talking about at what point, while using AI in the creation process, does the work become not the artist creation?
We encourage audience participation during this event that will be moderated by Chris Slee.
Whether you’re deep in the field or just getting curious, come connect with others building and exploring AI in Columbus.
