*"Somewhere between the lines, fiction begins to ask who we are."* I have decided to add these series of ***Philosophy Through Fiction*** to our club to take upon a different topic each time that makes us dig deeper! For this edition of **Philosophy Through Fiction: Identity**, we’ll gather to explore stories that quietly unravel the self. Novels where identity is shaped, fractured, performed, or forgotten. This is a themed book club, so there’s **no required reading**. Any book that walks us through exploring the human identity would fit the subject: through love and solitude, through memory and moral choice, through the tension between who we are and how we’re seen. Bring along any classic (or favorite passage) that grapples with identity through story, from existential novels to introspective modern classics. Bring your favorite quotes, reflections, or books to share! (Physical copies are always welcome for our group book photo tradition. ✨) Expect an evening of thoughtful conversation, quiet revelations, and the pleasure of recognizing pieces of ourselves in fiction. 📖 P.S. Nous visiterons en premier lieu le **château Laffitte** , chef d'oeuvre de l'architecture civile du XVIIème siècle dont **l'entrée est gratuite** le premier dimanche du mois, puis ferons le parcours des belles maisons du Parc pour ensuite entrer dans la forêt de Saint-Germain-en-Laye que nous parcourrons jusqu'à la gare de Saint-Germain. It asks what happens when certainty breaks, when the ego is wounded, and when meaning is found not through control, but through transformation. This gathering is for men interested in serious literature and honest inquiry into how love shapes character, responsibility, and the inner life. Discussion will be guided by questions rather than summaries. The aim is depth, not debate. Come having read the book or engaged with it seriously.

Dale Gnidovec, Curator of the Orton Hall Museum of Geology at The Ohio State University, will be presenting a program he has wanted to share with us for a long time: Plate Tectonics. His description of his program: Continents on the move - Nothing in Earth history makes sense without moving continents - it tells us why mountains, volcanoes, minerals, and fossils are where they are. This talk examines the evidence for continental drift, why it was disbelieved, and explains how the more-encompassing theory of plate tectonics was developed and eventually proven. Dale is an energetic, incredibly knowledgeable, and very entertaining speaker and this will be another wonderful program by Dale. Hope to see you there! Food and drinks will be provided at the event. We meet at lunch each week and each meeting follows a fairly organized agenda. First all participants pass their business cards around. Then each member and guest is invited to give a one-minute overview of their company and what is a perfect referral for the week.
