Kayaking: Circumnavigating Sharp Island (Sai Kung)
Kayaking: Circumnavigating Sharp Island (Sai Kung)
**Kayaking: Circumnavigating Sharp Island (Sai Kung)** **Difficulty Level:** 3 out of 5 (intermediate) **Distance:** 10 km **Time:** 5.5 hours **Description:** This kayaking event is appropriate for intermediate kayakers. The plan is to meet at the 7-11 Convenience Store (see address) and then walk to Sha Ha Beach, the location where we'll rent our kayaks. We'll navigate to Yim Tin Tsai Island where we'll have our lunch (there's a toilet on this island). If the tide is high and we can navigate through, we'll continue through a peaceful passage lined with mangroves and then make our way to the southern tip of Sharp Island. We'll make 2-3 stops along the way to rest and enjoy the scenery before we head back to Sha Ha Beach to return our kayaks. **Some highlights:** This whole area is listed and protected under the UNESCO World Heritage program. There are many beautiful and pristine beaches with incredible geological formations that are only found in this area because of a mega-volcanic eruption that occurred millions of years ago. Yes, what you will see has taken millions of years to make. What's more, because most of these treasures are facing the water, they can only be enjoyed from a kayak. **Single Kayak Price:** 150.00 **Double Kayak Price:** 300.00 (it is your responsibility to pair up with someone) **Life vests**: Free of charge (not mandatory but are recommended) **Payment:** To secure your kayak (single or double) you must navigate to the BlueSky Co. website by clicking on one of these links: * Click here to rent a [SINGLE KAYAK](https://bluesky-sc.com/en/online/single_kayak_shaha_weekends/) * Click here to rent a [DOUBLE KAYAK](https://bluesky-sc.com/en/online/doublekayak/) **Cancelations/Changes**: Any cancelations or changes are **YOUR** responsibility. Please read the [terms and conditions](https://bluesky-sc.com/refund-and-cancellation-policy/) as outlined by BlueSky Co. **Confirmation**: Once you complete your booking, you **MUST** contact me with your confirmation details so I can officiate and add you to the Confirmed and PAID LIST. I must have your confirmation one week before the event. If I do not hear from you I will remove your name from the list and give your spot to another interested kayaker. **What to bring:** * 2-3 liters of water (water available for sale along the way) * Snacks to eat along the way (sandwich, fruits, nuts, etc) * Aqua shoes or Water shoes * Gloves * Goggles for swimming * Sunglasses * Headgear (cap/hat) * Sunscreen * Bug Spray * Waterproof phone case * **Dry Bag (to keep your personal items dry)** **Changing Rooms:** There are 1-2 tents for you to use for changing in and out of your gear. **NO LOCKERS: No lockers are available. You can leave your items with the BlueSky Co. attendants; however, they are not responsible if something goes missing. Leave your Rolex watch, Hope Diamond necklace and other valuables at home.** **Toilets:** There are 2 toilets (there are facilities at the pier by the 7-11 and another facility on along the way). **Showers**: There are public showers nearby (free) **Stores:** There are several convenience stores near the pier. It is best to come prepared with water and snacks. **Meeting Point:** 7-11 Convenience Store - Sai Kung Pier: No. 74 Fuk Man Rd **Time:** 10:00 am (SHARP!) **Participants**: Limited to 10 kayakers (intermediate) **IMPORTANT:** Out of respect to the members that arrive on time, we will only be able to wait a maximum of 5 minutes. Should you arrive after 10:05 am, I will no longer be answering phone calls or responding to messages as I need to give my time and attention to those that have arrived on time.
AI Workshop Beginners
AI Workshop Beginners
Hi guys, I write a free newsletter about AI, tech, entrepreneurship, and Hong Kong called *Better Read Paul* ([Paul Muller | Substack](https://substack.com/@paulmuller)). While working on it, talking to founders, and seeing how people actually use AI day to day, I kept noticing the same thing: there’s a lot of excitement about AI, but very little practical guidance. At the same time, AI has become a big part of my own daily work. I use it constantly to move faster, think more clearly, and save time. And that’s what pushed me to organize these workshops. The idea is simple: very little theory, and as much hands-on practice as possible. This is not a class where you listen to me talk for two hours, but rather a big conversation where I’ll show you how to use these tools (Claude Code, Nano Banana, ChatGPT, etc.), what you can do with them, and how you can apply them to your own workflow depending on what you do. We will cover: * How to use Claude Code to build a WordPress website and a simple program to learn a language * How to use Claude to rewrite a LinkedIn post or any other social media content * How to use Nano Banana to create a marketing canvas for any brand Cost: 200HKD for 1h45 Place: Unit 280, 6/F Ping lam commercial building, 280-282 Lockhart road, Wanchai Time: 11am-1pm What to bring: A notepad, your laptop (Only if you need help and already use some AI tools). AI can be incredibly useful, but there are a few things people don’t always tell you. Many tools are paid. The results don’t always live up to expectations. Some tools crash, go down, or need maintenance right when you need them most. And many of them magically produce perfect output without effort. So in the end, the real questions are: what actually slows you down every day at work? Can an AI tool help with that? Is the quality good enough? And is it worth paying for, given the time you save? That’s why I want to run these AI workshops, to help people understand how these tools really work, and to give them the space to experiment and apply AI to their own workflows in a practical and realistic way. Paul
