A színjátszásban egy lényeges nehezítő körülmény, hogy mások néznek minket, és úgy érezzük, elvárják, hogy alakítsunk valamit. Ez sok feszültséget szül bennünk, és megnehezíti, hogy természetesen viselkedjünk. Az impróban egy másik jelentős nehézség, hogy fogalmunk sincs, mit fog a társunk (társaink) csinálni, és ahhoz hogy kapcsolódjunk. Ez a bizonytalanség további frusztrációt kelt.
