There is a core attendance of 5-10 players and new players are always welcome! RSVPs are not required.

St. Timothy's is excited to offer support to newcomers in Canada. Our goal is to provide conversational language practice through informal instruction and feedback in a welcoming and diverse community. We invite all new immigrants, English language students, visitors to Canada, parents of children temporarily attending schools in Toronto, foreign university students, and anyone looking to enhance their language skills. We aim to build community where friendships can flourish, in order to help participants establish meaningful connections, learn about life in Toronto, and access practical resources as you settle in to this new city and country. We begin every Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. with a time to socialize and connect. Our formal program begins at 10:30 a.m., and each week we will have different activities and topics, including practicing English conversation, reading short articles, learning about common pronunciation and grammar mistakes made by ESL speakers, etc. Our volunteers would love to get to know you and offer gentle and constructive feedback to help you improve your English! We also offer Individual career mentoring, including job search, mock job interviews, and helping you improve your resumes and cover letters.

We know you have a stash of unfinished WIPs and UFOs, but can't find the motivation to finish them. Come out and stitch with us! We'll be hosting a bi-weekly social stitch night to allow for folks to body double while knitting, crocheting, drawing, and more! It's a great opportunity to meet new people, exchange tips and tricks, all while working through your backlog of projects. Don't have a fiber project? Bring a canvas, ipad, some blank sneakers, or any other project. Seating fee of $5+tax/person. Well we can’t save the world (yet), but we aim to try to play a small part in the lives of those experiencing homelessness by making their day a bit better!
Description: Before the event the organizer will post a list in the comment section of the attendees and what they are responsible to bring (food/drink, kitchen supplies, cleaning supplies). We normally ask each attending member to bring approximately $15-20 worth of ingredients/supplies to our event. We will use the items to prepare and serve food/drink at The Meeting Place.
Timeline: We will meet on location at 11:00 am, with lunch served between 12:30-1:00 pm.
Membership Dues: Membership dues are $2.00 for the calendar year. Membership dues go towards paying for food/supplies incurred by no-shows. Membership dues are due at the first meetup of the year that you attend.
No Shows/Late Un-RSVP: We’re relying on members who RSVP to bring key ingredients for recipes! Please try your best to show-up or alternatively change your RSVP early so another member may fill the empty spot.

Hello Meeples!!!! I host board game night every Thursday at Face to Face Games, located at 1398 Danforth Ave (about a 3 min walk from Greenwood station, or a 7 min walk from Coxwell station)! How it works I’ll be seated at the table at the very back right-hand corner of Face to Face Games (near the washrooms). We usually have 2 tables reserved for our group. (If you can’t find us, ask one of the staff members.) I’ll bring a variety of games from my own collection to board game night, but attendees are free to bring any of their own games as well! Got a brand new game you’ve been dying to play but never have enough players? Bring it along! Got a retro game that you think is a hidden gem? Bring it along and spread the joy! I usually come early at around 4:30pm. If there are other attendees who also arrive early, then we can play some shorter games until 6pm. Six o’clock is when the event officially starts and is when most attendees start trickling in. Once we have most people assembled, we collectively decide which games we want to play and split into groups accordingly. We usually have one group tackling a heavy board game (ie. a game that tends to be more complex and takes longer to finish) while the others play short to medium-length games, but this is very flexible and will depend on turnout and the kinds of games people bring. If you can only get here later or if you arrive late, don’t fret. We’ll see what game you can join so that you can get playing as soon as possible! Rules of the Tables: We are a cool and relaxed group - we swear! But to ensure things run smoothly and that everyone is having fun, we do some some rules we would like attendees to follow: \- Please be respectful of people’s games and property\. For example\, if you’re having a snack \(please share\!\)\, make sure your fingers are clean before you handle cards\, mats\, meeples\, and the like\. People are generous to bring their games to board game night\, so we want to be mindful not to damage or dirty their stuff\. \- Please be mindful of your cellphone usage during the game\.
