Cherry blossoms are in bloom so we are joining up with the English Japanese meeting group for a Hanami/picnic this bank holiday Monday, starting from 2pm. Please wrap up warm in case. We recommend to bring plenty of food and drink as shops are far. Also we recommend something like a picnic mat to sit on. The nearest underground stations are Regents Park and Great Portland Street. This is a mini-group class for a small number of English students (minimum 2, maximum 4) so that everyone gets lots of opportunity to speak and be corrected. We switch topics as the conversation flows, so that you can get used to talking about a variety of subjects and build your confidence, grammar and vocabulary. For our next meetup we’ll be exploring a couple of different aspects of football analysis. We’ll start with a quick warm-up discussion: **“Useful stat or overrated stat?”**. Bring along a football metric you think is either particularly valuable or perhaps a little overused, and we’ll go around the table to hear a few perspectives. Next, we’ll move into a short **Tactical Breakdown** section. If you’d like to contribute, bring along **one interesting tactical idea** from a team you’ve watched recently. You might cover: • The team and situation (e.g. build-up, pressing, chance creation) • What the pattern or idea looks like • Why you think it works (or doesn’t) Finally, we’ll finish with some **Hidden Gem scouting**. If you’d like, bring along **one player you think could soon make the jump to a bigger league**. Discover your ability to unicycle in a no-pressure friendly environment where you will (literally) have someone to lean on. Learn all the secret tips and hints and get up and rolling in no time! Anyone can learn to ride the unicycle and to play unicycle hockey. We have unicycles for you to use and play with, but please let us know in advance so we can ensure we have these available. Just be willing to have a go with a friendly bunch of varying abilities. **The Data-Driven Brand: Using Analytics to Shape Perception** Can you use analytics to improve tacos? This being CBUSDAW, we think the answer is probably “yes”, but we’re not sure how to implement or test this theory. For our April meetup we’ve got Sara Kear, CMO of Condado Tacos, to investigate this delicious question. Sara will explore how she blends quantitative data and qualitative customer feedback to shape brand positioning and drive business decisions. We all know that marketing and analytics go way beyond attribution. Sara will show how Condado uses customer insights to inform product and pricing strategy. She’ll also highlight how Condado leverages customer feedback at scale to influence operational priorities, positioning marketing as the voice of the customer across the organization.
