Pignetismi Literary dinner: an evening of books and international friends
Pignetismi Literary dinner: an evening of books and international friends
:)** **\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-** ## **ENGLISH VERSION** **Pignetismi Literary Dinner: An Evening of Books & International Friends** *An intimate literary gathering to share stories, ideas, and meaningful connections over dinner* If you love books and the conversations that grow around them, this is a special opportunity to experience the Pignetismi community in a more intimate way. A **literary dinner** designed as a smaller, more personal extension of our book club — less structured, more relaxed, where literature becomes a way to connect. 📍 Location: Da Sobrio al Pigneto 📚 **The leitmotif of the evening – Books, relationships & connection** The evening is inspired by three different ways of experiencing stories: the emotional intensity of James Baldwin, the introspection and suspended sense of time of Virginia Woolf, and the natural, contemporary connections of Sally Rooney. Just like in their works, conversation will be at the heart of the evening: authentic, spontaneous, and open. 👉 Bring your **favorite book** It will be your way to share something about yourself and discover others. 🗓 Thursday, April 23, 2026 ⏰ 8:30 PM – 10:30 PM 🎟 Limited spots: 15 people Ticket reservation is required 🍽 **Dinner – a shared experience** A menu inspired by Italian conviviality and simplicity, designed to encourage connection and conversation. **Shared starters:** – Fried potato chips with sage – Mixed cured meats – Mixed cheeses – Fava beans & chicory dish – Pappa al pomodoro **First course (choice of):** – Pici cacio e pepe with crispy pears or – Maltagliati with chicory, pecorino & crispy guanciale **Main course (choice of):** – Eggplant parmigiana or – Meatballs in tomato sauce **Dessert:** – Tiramisù Water and bread included (Any additional drinks are not included) 💶 **Price:** €30 To be paid directly at the venue 🌿 **The spirit of the evening** This is not a typical book club. It’s a more intimate and welcoming space where talking about books becomes a way to truly connect. The rhythm of the dinner — slow, shared, and layered — creates the perfect setting for meaningful yet natural conversations. ✨ A night of stories, listening, and connection — on and beyond the page **Follow us on Instagram: [Pignetismi](https://www.instagram.com/pignetismi/ "https://www.instagram.com/pignetismi/") and [Pignetismi Book Club](https://www.instagram.com/pignetismibookclub/ "https://www.instagram.com/pignetismibookclub/")** **[Read our newsletter for more books, movies, updates](https://pignetismi.substack.com/ "https://pignetismi.substack.com/")** A gathering to read, listen, share, and feel a little more at home. 📚✨ See you there!

Disc Tues / Choose Your Movie: THE CHRISTOPHERS vs NORMAL at the Gateway!
Disc Tues / Choose Your Movie: THE CHRISTOPHERS vs NORMAL at the Gateway!
Join us as we get together for a Discount Tuesday / Choose Your Movie event to see your choice of two great new films! Option 1 (and the one I'll be seeing) is the top-reviewed comedy-drama, THE CHRISTOPHERS! The film is set in the art world and follows the estranged children of a former artist who hire a forger. It is directed by Steven Soderberg, stars Ian McKellen and Michaela Coel and has been earning rave reviews on the indie circuit. Option 2 is the latest action-thriller starring Bob Odenkirk, NORMAL! The film follows a temporary small-town sheriff who uncovers dark mysteries after a local bank robbery. Here are descriptions, trailers and our plan for this event: THE CHRISTOPHERS: The children of a once famous artist hire a forger to complete some unfinished, long ago abandoned canvases so they'll have a better inheritance when he dies. It is directed by Steven Soderbergh and stars Ian McKellen, Michaela Coel, Jessica Gunning and James Corden. BUZZ & ACCLAIM: The film is earning an excellent 97% positive rating on Rotten Tomatoes where critics call it a “dynamic, emotional and surprising journey” and a “compelling chamber piece that works like intellectual comfort food.” Others call the film, an “incredibly funny, comedy drama with plot reversals that make it feel like it’s on the verge of a thriller!” TRAILER: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H79-EqzmdwY&t=20s NORMAL: This action-crime-thriller follows a man who comes to the sleepy town of Normal, Minnesota to serve as the temporary sheriff. But a bank robbery leads him to a criminal underground reaches throughout the entire town. The film is directed by Ben Wheatley and stars Bob Odenkirk, Henry Winkler and Lena Headey. The film comes from the same team that brought us Nobody and the John Wick series, so expect an over-the-top, action-filled thrill ride!
