**Copenhagen Language Exchange – Free Monthly Meetup** Join us for Copenhagen’s international language exchange night! 🌍 This is a relaxed, social meetup where locals and internationals come together to practice languages, meet new people, and have great conversations. We meet on the **first Monday of every month from 19:00 to 22:00**. It’s **free to join**, and everyone is welcome — whether you’re a complete beginner or a fluent speaker. ### What to expect * Casual conversations in different languages * Meet people from many countries and cultures * Practice speaking in a friendly, supportive environment * No teachers, no pressure — just real conversations When you arrive, you’ll be welcomed by one of our **Swaplanguage Ambassadors**. Join us for a trail run/jog/walk! Note this is Easter Monday, a public holiday in Denmark and therefore we start already at 14:30h We encourage you to wear Easter / Springtime costumes. Feel free to join the silly pack. Only for this special occation there will also be Easter activities. We are not a typical running club, so please read about the concept in “about us”. How it works: we don’t know in advance where the trail will go, but we know it will be fun! A member of the club, the 'hare', sets a trail, usually marked with flour. The rest of us, the 'pack', follows the hare's 'scent', i.e., the marks. There will be a 8-10 km trail for runners with shortcuts down to 5-6 km for walkers and those who need a slower pace. We have no set pace - run/walk as slow or as fast as you'd like. After the run we enjoy some refreshments and socialize. Come a few minutes before the start so that you can say hi and leave your bag in a designated bag car before we set off at 14:30. Don’t worry if there are few registrations on Meetup. We have existed for 44 years, and a lot of our members (anywhere from 20 to 50 people) just show up. Four-legged friends are welcome! We never cancel. See you there!

Join a calming and creative workshop where we work with pure, natural beeswax. Over 2.5–3 hours, participants will make several types of candles – free-standing rolled candles, hand-dipped tapers, and poured tealights. Along the way, you’ll learn about the unique properties of beeswax and its fascinating origin in the beehive. All materials are included. **Les Amis** is a women-only community of friendly souls. Ever wondered *why Denmark works the way it does*? You may already live here — but understanding Denmark is something else entirely. On this **2-hour pop-up walking tour**, we go beyond the usual history and sights to explore the ideas, values, and systems that shape Danish society today. This is not a traditional sightseeing tour — it’s a conversation about how Denmark actually functions. We’ll walk through central Copenhagen and use the city as our classroom. Along the way, we’ll talk about topics like: * Why Danes trust each other (and their government) * How the welfare state really works * Why people are willing to pay high taxes * The role of monarchy in a modern democracy * Danish culture, social norms, and everyday life * And yes — what’s going on with Greenland, and our relationship to the United States This tour is designed for **curious, thoughtful people** who want to understand the country they are living in — not just observe it. After the tour you are welcome to join for an informal dinner with the other participants and the guide. The price of the tour is 125 DKK which can be paid on the tour in cash or MobilePay. Your guide is Jens Frahm-Rasmussen who, before becoming a guide, worked 10 years in Human resources in the City hall of Copenhagen, the Ministry of Integration, and Copenhagen University.

We meet to learn and practice American Sign Language and to grow our familiarity with Deaf culture. Facilitated by hearing folks (with a connection to a professional interpreter) using Deaf-created content. People of all ASL skill levels are welcome! As we learn, we hope to connect more with the Deaf community in Central Ohio. Join us as you're able! Come regularly or just once - whatever you're looking for! Each meetup will explore different topics related to ASL/Deaf culture, and will feature time to practice conversation with one another. Just bring yourself and a willingness to learn!

Over 50 Happy Hour – Liberty Tavern Polaris Join us for a fun and relaxed Over 50 Happy Hour on Friday, April 10th from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Liberty Tavern Polaris. This is a great opportunity to meet new people in our age group in a casual, comfortable setting. Whether you’re in your fifties, sixties, or seventies, everyone is welcome. Some people who attend are retired, while others are still working, but we all share one thing in common — enjoying good conversation and good company. If you’re new to the group, don’t worry. Many people attend solo and quickly find it easy to strike up conversations. The goal of this happy hour is simple: meet people, socialize, laugh, and enjoy the evening. We’ll be gathering at Liberty Tavern Polaris, a welcoming tavern with a warm atmosphere, great food, and a bar perfect for relaxed conversation. Feel free to come when you can and leave when you want. Some members arrive right at 4:00 PM, while others stop by later after work.
