Literary Reading Circle: “The Dead” by James Joyce
We will discuss our reactions and interpretations to “The Dead”—one of the most anthologized and discussed works of short fiction in the English canon. It is 26 pages and can be found for free online [here](https://www.fountainheadpress.com/expandingthearc/assets/joycedead.pdf). The story deals with questions of mortality, relationships, and polite society in general.
Joyce is often considered one of the greatest writers in the English language, certainly from the 20th century. I look forward to hearing your thoughts!

Data Visualization Workshop: Storytelling with Data
**Data Visualization: Storytelling with Data**
Curious how to move beyond boring dashboards and misleading pie charts? In this hands‑on workshop, we’ll explore how clear visuals and strong narrative can turn raw numbers into insights that drive decisions.
We’ll cover the fundamentals of visual perception, chart selection, and layout, then show how to craft a cohesive story that gives your audience the right context at the right moment.
We’ll highlight practical, open resources and best‑practice frameworks that shape the field of data visualization today—from principles popularized by experts like Edward Tufte and Cole Nussbaumer Knaflic to community‑driven guidelines for accessible, inclusive visual design.
You’ll see examples of effective redesigns, learn techniques for avoiding common pitfalls (like clutter, inappropriate chart types, and misleading scales), and get simple heuristics you can apply immediately.
Finally, we’ll dive into dashboard design: how to align visuals to user goals, choose metrics that matter, and build layouts that guide attention without overwhelming. Bring a dataset or a dashboard—participants will share work in small groups and receive constructive, action‑oriented feedback they can use to improve clarity and impact.
**Speakers**:
* Summer Stickney
**Agenda**:
* 17:30 – 17:45 - Registration
* 17:45 - 18:30 Intro to data visualization and storytelling
* 18:30 – 20:00 Sharing and feedback, breakout groups
* 20:00 – 20:30 Wrap‑up, Q&A
See you there!

Breathwork Ceremony: Clearing & Cleaning
Breathwork Ceremony: Clearing & Cleaning is a guided, embodied breathwork session focused on releasing physical and emotional tension that has been stored in the body.
Through conscious breathing, music, and facilitated presence, the practice supports the nervous system in slowing down and letting go of accumulated stress, pressure, and inner holding. Rather than analysing or talking things through, the body is given space to release and reset in its own way.
This ceremony is especially supportive at times when you feel overloaded, tense, or disconnected from your body, and when rest alone doesn’t feel sufficient.
What to Expect
• A gently guided breathwork journey supported by music
• Conscious breathing working directly with the nervous system
• Space for physical and emotional release
• A calm, held group environment
• Time to rest and integrate after the practice
Each experience is individual. Some people feel deep relaxation, others notice emotional release, clarity, or a sense of lightness. There is no right or wrong way to experience the practice.
Who This Is For
• Open to all genders
• Suitable for beginners and those familiar with breathwork
• Supportive for stress, emotional load, and nervous system regulation
• No prior experience required
You are welcome to participate at your own pace.
Practical Information
• Duration: approx. 2 hours
• Breathwork practice: around 50 minutes
• Price: 360 CZK
• Language: English
registration: https://vev.co/atma-community-space-praha
The evening includes a short introduction, the guided breathwork practice, and a sharing circle with tea afterward (sharing is always optional).
Facilitated by Alina, a breathwork facilitator, transformational coach, and artist. Her work weaves together breath, music, and presence, creating experiences that support emotional release, nervous system regulation, and deep inner listening.
She holds breathwork ceremonies as gentle yet powerful journeys — spaces where the body is trusted to release, integrate, and find its own clarity without force or explanation.
Coffee and Conversation (Karlin / křížikova metro)

• What to bring
Just you.
• Important to know
We are hosted by Do Slova Praha. As a church, we want to help our community in practical ways. We may hand out information to other events that our church does, but do not worry... this is not a religious event. Just come to practice English :)

AI Development Risk Case Studies and how Agentic AI is the future of Appsec
OWASP is ending use of Meetup, so I built an eventbrite for the event.
https://www.eventbrite.com/e/ai-development-risk-case-studies-and-how-agentic-ai-is-the-future-of-appsec-tickets-1981450622150?aff=oddtdtcreator
AI is transforming how software is designed, developed, and deployed, dramatically accelerating velocity while introducing new categories of risk. As organizations adopt AI-assisted coding, autonomous agents, and increasingly complex model interactions, traditional application security approaches struggle to keep pace. This talk examines emerging AI-driven risks through real case studies from the field, highlighting issues such as insecure code generation, data-leakage pathways, model manipulation, and evolving supply-chain threats. We will explore how engineering teams must adapt their people, processes, and governance models to secure AI-augmented development workflows effectively. The session will then introduce agentic AI as the next evolution in application security—autonomous systems capable of continuous analysis, multi-step reasoning, and real-time remediation. Attendees will learn how combining agentic AI with modern practices can reduce developer friction, improve coverage, and create a future-ready application security strategy designed for the demands of AI-native software development
