# The Tour de France-themed dinner pairs regional French wines with a multi-course menu in Azabudai.
The event is open to the public, so Tokyo American Club membership is not required. It also serves as a birthday celebration, with a wine raffle planned during the evening.
Taste Wines From 6 French Regions
The wine selection travels through Loire, Languedoc-Roussillon, Rhône, Bordeaux, Burgundy and Alsace. Each bottle introduces a different grape variety, climate and winemaking style.
The evening starts with Crémant de Loire made from Chenin Blanc, Chardonnay and Cabernet Franc. A biodynamic Picpoul de Pinet from Languedoc-Roussillon follows with the amuse course.
The Rhône is represented by a 2024 Crozes-Hermitage Syrah from Domaine Belle. The main course brings 2 reds together for a side-by-side comparison.
Guests will taste a 2021 Haut-Médoc from Bordeaux alongside a 2024 Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes de Beaune Pinot Noir. An Alsace Gewürztraminer finishes the wine selection with dessert.
French Wine and Food Pairings
The dinner menu includes an amuse, starter, main course and dessert. Each course has been selected to accompany the wines served alongside it.
Shellfish is paired with the Picpoul de Pinet, while a white meat starter accompanies the Rhône Syrah. Beef and seasonal vegetables arrive with the Bordeaux and Burgundy reds.
Dessert is tarte Tatin with vanilla ice cream, served with the Alsace Gewürztraminer. Coffee or organic tea follows the final course.
Vegetarian meals are available with advance notice.
