Effective Advocacy in Virginia (Virtual)
Ubicación no especificada aúnWant to become a more effective advocate? Join us for a virtual program, featuring Delegate Kathy Tran (District 18), Majority Caucus Chair of the Virginia House of Delegates. With a new Governor and House of Delegates taking office and the General Assembly convening on January 14, 2026, now is the perfect time to learn how to influence environmental legislation and local government decisions—including county master plans and data center proposals. Delegate Tran will share practical tips for effective advocacy at both state and local levels. We’ll wrap up with an opportunity to sign up for alerts on key legislation. This online program is co-sponsored by Loudoun Wildlife Conservancy and Northern Virginia Bird Alliance (NVBA). Register thorough NVBA to receive the Zoom link.

🌲 Celebrate the longest night of the year and the promise of growing light as we gather to enjoy the winter solstice sunset. We’ll begin with a quiet, reflective walk through the forest, noticing the subtle beauty of the season while gathering small natural items to decorate a Yule log. Gathering around a campfire, we’ll settle into a forest bathing experience, connecting with our senses, the warmth of the flames, and the calm that winter offers. As the sun sets on the longest night of the year, we’ll burn the yule log we created, symbolizing the return of the light in the coming weeks and months.🪵🕯️

The hike is mostly along wooded trails and includes a stop at the beautiful Gordon Pond. There will be lots of opportunity to explore and mindfully experience the winter natural environment. We will hike at a moderate pace - it probably won't take the entire 3 hours - but we want to make sure that we clear our heads from the previous night's over indulgences.
