Spring Equinox-ish Bird Walk at Rose Creek

The actual Spring or Vernal Equinox takes place on Friday, March 20th at 7:46 AM, but since many of us have jobs, we will do our Spring Equinox-ish walk on Saturday, March 21st instead.

Join us for a collaboration between the San Diego Bird Alliance and the Friends of Rose Creek as we explore the birds of the Rose Creek Salt Marsh and upstream habitat.

No birding experience required.
We will have binoculars available for use during the walk thanks to the San Diego Bird Alliance.

Rumor has it that the song bird migration will be starting.

Stay for as long or as short as you wish. We usually have the best bird sightings around sunset!
This bird stroll is on mostly level ground, often paved and suitable for all ages. Unfortunately, the entire walk is not wheelchair accessible. If you or someone who wants to attend uses a wheelchair, please message us for how you can join for the wheelchair friendly stretch of the walk.

*** Rain cancels. Drizzle we may continue***

Low tide will be at 5:00 PM PT and the tide will be rising. Sunset is at 7:01 PM. Bring a jacket as it will be cool near sunset or earlier depending on the weather.

Calling Citizen Scientists! If you have a smart phone and want to contribute to data collection, join iNaturalist and start documenting nature along Rose Creek during the guided walk. Learn more here.
