Notorious— SUSPENSE! 👭👨🏽‍🤝‍👨🏼👫🐐

We love Hitchcock at Essential Cinema, and ‘Notorious’ (1946) is one of his best. Cary Grant in love, a wild Ingrid Bergman, a kiss that drove the censors mad, and Claude Rains’ wicked mother, all involved in something about uranium in wine bottles.

Incredible suspense, from the master!

We meet to set up and go for snacks at 7. At 7:30 we watch a short film or cartoon. The main film starts at 8:00. It’s fine if you come later, but you may miss a few minutes of the movie.

We watch best-quality movies in the original language, with subtitles. Afterward we talk about the director, the music, and where the movie fits into World Cinema. Our goal is to introduce friends to different actors, directors, and genres of film. We open up new cinematic worlds to explore!
