Paris International Philosophy Café (LIVE + ONLINE)

This is the online offspring of the monthly Paris Café Philo (in person) which exists since 1997.

On the 1st Wednesday of the month we meet in a famous Paris Café ((Verify by event as once or twice a year it can happen someplace else).
AND
Every wednesday we are online with English speaking moderators.

What happens at a Café Philo? We choose a topic among those that the participants propose and we discuss it in an orderly fashion. ...But what is a topic?

A topic can be a question about the meaning of life, what do you think about the world we live in, the difference between good and bad, how do we know what is (or is not) true…, or real…, or beautiful.

And there are many other deep questions that philosophers, scientists, writers have asked themselves!.

If you are interested in talking about these or other topics, we invite you to our online philosophical café, an oline gathering where you can express your ideas, teach us something or even learn something!

These discussions are serious, intelligent, and can even be fun!

No background in philosophy or other human sciences is required, but if you do have it, you are very, very welcome, of course.

Where do we meet ?

We hold our online meetings on Zoom, a quality video conferencing platorm. Incribe to get the Zoom link.

A moderator leads our discussions, ensuring that every participant has the opportunity to delve into our philosophical meetings in a welcoming environment. No one is obliged to talk. Maximum number of participants: LIVE : 30 : Online about 25.

What to Expect

Interactive Format: This event is NOT a lecture but an exchange of ideas where your insights and questions are welcomed. The tone is respectful and ideologies that do not respect humanity will not be accepted.

How to Join

Once you have joined the event in Meetup, the link for participating in the meeting will become visible to you. On the date and time of the event, just click the link and you will be connected with the philosophical café.

Please make sure your name or nickname appears on your frame in Zoom, and please turn on your camera, as we like to see your face.

Again, this event is open to everyone, regardless of your background or level of philosophical knowledge. Whether you're a seasoned philosopher or simply someone curious about life's big questions, we welcome you to join the discussion.
