🌬️ La climatisation, oui ou non ? - With the extreme heat that has swept across Europe in recent weeks, the question of whether or not to install air conditioning keeps coming up. One Croatian journalist, in particular, remains unconvinced. Here is a summary of his article: The installation of the first air conditioner on the island of Ugljan in the 1990s marked the end of an age-old Mediterranean way of life. Air conditioning replaced traditional methods of managing heat, altering daily rhythms and local culture. While some view this transformation positively, it has also led to a decline in the culture of public social interaction and a growing obsession with sensory comfort and mental well-being.
In your opinion, what are the pros and cons of air conditioning? Is it truly necessary, or could we do without it?
For reference: original article — French translation [paywall 🔒]#### Word of the week:
LA CLIMATISATION*, nom féminin*
