HER+Data MCR is a community working to connect, inspire, support and empower the NW UK’s Women in Data. Our goal is to bring together women who work in data or who would like to work in data - to support one another, share experiences and talk data - big or small! Whether you’re a student just embarking on a career or a seasoned data professional, this group is for you. We want to connect and inspire amazing data women with diverse expertise and experience.
For our February event, we will hear from Oyinkansola Adebayo, CEO & Founder of Niyo Enterprise about "The importance of Black & Ethnic Women in Data", and network with other women in data!

Title: The importance of Black & Ethnic Women in Data
Bio: Oyinkansola runs Niyo enterprise (https://niyoenterprise.com/), a company that specializes in using technology to economically empower black & ethnic women. This organisation currently has two brands: Niyo Hair and Beauty and Niyo Network. Niyo Hair and Beauty (https://niyohairandbeauty.com/) is a technology driven mobile afro hair and beauty service that services 400 clients across the midlands whilst economically empowering hairstylists. Niyo Network (https://niyonetwork.com/) exists to empower black & ethnic women to pursue their business ideas and career aspirations through technology driven bootcamps. Oyin has just trained over 70 black& ethnic women to become full stack developers and Unity Developers through the “black codher” bootcamp (https://blackcodher.com/) & black disruptor bootcamps, one of the projects under Niyo network and is set to empower a further 400 women this year including women in data. Some of her women have secured roles in KMPG and many more. Oyin holds a MSc in Development Economics and a BA in Business Management & Economics.
