Today, more people than ever are cutting back on dairy whether it's for animal welfare, helping the planet, or health reasons. We thought it would be particularly interesting to hear from New Roots, a vegan cheesemaker in Switzerland, who has the goal to provide an artisanal, tasty, ethical and sustainable alternative to cheese. In this webinar we will hear from Christi Dufour, a member of the production team, who will share the New Roots story, explain the production process, and give us a quick demo of how to use their cheese to make a delicious tiramisu recipe. We will also look a bit deeper into the benefits concerning carbon emissions when it comes to vegan cheese vs. dairy cheese.

A bit more about our speaker:
Christi joined New Roots in 2018 and is responsible for Events, Festivals, as well as a member of the Production team. She considers herself a "Reincarnated Vegan Cheezmaker" since before joining New Roots, she was an event producer in the art, technology and sports sectors. She came to Switzerland from the US to work for the Swiss Federal Council and the United Nations. She is also an arts writer and curator.

She has always strived to align her career with personal values, goals and in 2006, she became vegan. At first because of sheer circumstance and through years of personal experience, for her commitment to the ethical, environmental, spiritual and physical benefits.
