Every 4 years, a very important event happens in Bitcoin. The block reward, how bitcoins are created, is halved. This halving will be the 3rd one, Bitcoin went from 50BTC/block to 25, then 12.5 (currently), and after this halving will be 6.25.

This is definitely a good reason to celebrate, this defines Bitcoin property of having a finite supply, capped at 21M btc by the year 2140.
