This is one of the most fun hikes in the area! It's shorter than our usual routes but still a challenging rock hopping scramble! If you're not comfortable using your hands to move up and down rocks, this is NOT for you. The reward is a 360 degree view of the Luray Valley and New Market Gap We'll move at the usual pace (around 2.5 mph) and stop for a break at the top to enjoy the view. Expect the hike to take about 3.5 hours. Don't forget your lunch! Afterwards we’ll head to Woodstock Brew House for a drink and something more to eat. We will meet at the Scothorn Gap Trailhead (38.691653, -78.580034) on Crisman Hollow Road. **CARPOOLING:** We encourage those with cars to be willing to carpool - you're the ones who make LMH great! By popular demand, the group wanted to read and discuss the semi-autobiographical novel by Henri-Pierre Roche, that inspired the Truffaut movie we watched last year. The book is available through the Columbus Library's interlibrary loan system. They reported there are twenty-eight copies available in the state of Ohio. There are also used copies available on Amazon and eBay for under twenty dollars. You may want to rewatch the movie after reading the book, so we can compare and contrast in our discussion.
