Cloud To Career
Cloud To Career
**Cloud to Career** **Proudly presented by AWS Cloud Club @ University of Melbourne & Quantum Club** **Sponsored by CareerXlerate** **Turn your cloud knowledge into real-world impact—and your passion into a career.** In today’s world, knowing the cloud is just the beginning. The real question is: **How do you turn those skills into meaningful, real-world AI and industry solutions?** **Cloud to Career** is a high-impact, immersive evening designed to bridge that exact gap — bringing together students, industry leaders, and innovators into one powerful space. Whether you're exploring cloud, diving into AI, or preparing for your first role in tech, this event will give you something far more valuable than theory: **insight, exposure, and real connection with the people already doing it.** **Event Details** * **Date:** April 8th * **Time:** 6:00 PM – 8:30 PM * **Audience:** \~100 students, engineers, and aspiring tech professionals **What to Expect** Industry Panel: Real Stories, Real Insights. Kick off the evening with a high-value panel featuring leading professionals from the industry. Learn how they transitioned from learning cloud to building impactful solutions in AI, engineering, and beyond. **We’ll dive into:** * Breaking into the tech industry * Real-world applications of cloud + AI * Skills that actually matter (beyond coursework) * Mistakes, lessons, and career-defining moments **Live Q&A — Ask Anything** An open Q&A session where you drive the conversation. Ask your questions — whether you're unsure about career paths, technical skills, or industry expectations. Includes both: * In-person audience questions * Online audience participation **Networking + Buffet** Move into a relaxed networking session with food and meaningful conversations. This is your chance to: * Speak directly with industry professionals * Build genuine connections * Explore opportunities, mentorship, and ideas **Live Case Challenge (Student × Industry Collaboration)** This is where things get exciting. During networking, 2 students and 2 industry professionals will be randomly selected to take part in a live architecture challenge. **What happens:** * A real-world case scenario is presented * Collaborate for 40 minutes * They design and discuss a solution architecture * Present their thinking to a panel of judges **Then:** * Judges break down the solution * Highlight what worked and what didn’t * Share how they would approach the problem Meanwhile, the rest of the room continues networking — making this a dynamic, interactive, and high-energy environment. Why You Should Attend * Go beyond theory and see how cloud + AI is applied in the real world * Learn directly from industry leaders * Build meaningful connections that could shape your career * Experience a live problem-solving environment * Be part of one of the most engaging student-industry tech events at UniMelb **Final Note** This isn’t just another tech event. ### ✨ KISMETRIX \| Love Mastery [Ticketed Event](https://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/the-art-of-choosing-for-women-boundaries-standards-in-dating-tickets-1986299807193?utm-campaign=social&utm-content=attendeeshare&utm-medium=discovery&utm-term=listing&utm-source=cp&aff=ebdsshcopyurl) This is the first release of The Art of Choosing under our Love Mastery Series. **The Art of Choosing (For Women)** Boundaries & Standards in Dating 📍 RYVE – Level 1, 38 Shafton St, Huntingdale VIC 📅 Wednesday, 8 April 2026 🕖 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM ## A WORKSHOP FOR WOMEN WHO WANT MORE THAN SURFACE-LEVEL CONNECTION This is not about how to attract more people. This is about learning how to **choose the right ones**. Many women don’t struggle with meeting people — they struggle with **discernment, boundaries, and trusting their own judgement**. If you’ve ever felt: • You keep attracting the same patterns in dating • You ignore red flags or second-guess your intuition • You give too much, too soon • You’re unsure what you truly want in a partner • You want something deeper — but don’t know how to navigate modern dating This session is designed to support you. ## WHAT YOU’LL GAIN • **Clarity** — understanding what you truly want (beyond chemistry) • **Standards** — defining your non-negotiables with confidence • **Boundaries** — learning how to hold them without guilt • **Discernment** — recognising red flags, green flags, and inconsistency early • **Self-awareness** — understanding your patterns in attraction and attachment • **Decision-making** — knowing when to lean in… and when to walk away ## THE KISMETRIX APPROACH At Kismetrix, we believe connection should feel natural, respectful, and aligned. This is not a rigid workshop. It’s a **guided, reflective space** with real conversations, practical insights, and the opportunity to deepen your understanding of how you show up in dating. This work doesn’t stop here — it carries into how you engage in real-life interactions, including Kismetrix events. ## WHO THIS IS FOR • Women who are intentional about dating and relationships • Women who value depth, emotional intelligence, and meaningful connection • Women who are ready to raise their standards — without becoming closed off ## IMPORTANT NOTES • This is a discussion-based and reflective session (not lecture-style) • This is not a dating or matchmaking event • Outcomes in dating are never guaranteed — this is about personal clarity • Respect, boundaries, and emotional safety are central to this space • Tickets are non-refundable but transferable ## Hosted by **KISMETRIX \| Love Mastery** 📧 [social@kismetrix.com.au]() 🌐 [www.kismetrix.com.au]()

Dying Consciously: How to Plan and Have Your Preferred Death
Dying Consciously: How to Plan and Have Your Preferred Death
**Dying Consciously** \- it's not something most of us think about very much\. But some ancient teachings tell us that our state of consciousness at the time of death will determine the conditions of *our next destination*. And this idea is indeed supported by *some parapsychological evidence*. **In this unique interactive session,** Candace Ohanessian will walk us through the many considerations and questions one needs to align this most important life-event with our innermost values and wishes. **Candace will introduce us** to the key foundational concepts, parapsychological aspects of dying, and then the practical foundations of a preferred (conscious) death. She'll then cover in depth what conscious dying is all about, how to be in a supporting role with others who may be dying, and then finishing with some closing reflections and discussion. Certainly **a thought-provoking and eye-opening** discussion, and one you rarely get the opportunity to explore in a safe space with an experienced expert in the field. When we face up to our greatest fears, we become empowered. **About Candace:** * End-of-life doula, funeral celebrant, and registered funeral provider * Believes that preparing for death is a most life-affirming achievement * 20+ years’ experience with people in transition - addiction recovery, end-of-life planning and care, and families in grief. * Helps people plan for and have their preferred death * Helps families embrace and support the dying person and each other, optimally * Cert IV in Doula Studies, BA in Human Development, MSc in Consciousness, Spirituality and Transpersonal Psychology. * Member of [Dying With Dignity Victoria ](https://www.dwdv.org.au/)and [Palliative Care ](https://www.pallcarevic.asn.au/)Australia, * Committee member of [Natural Death Advocacy Network](http://ndan.com.au/) * Board of Directors for the end-of-life doula peak body “HELD” **Post-Event Social Lunch Hangout (12.45 - 1.45pm)** Afterwards, you are invited to lunch with everyone at Flora Restaurant (5min walk from the venue) **PLEASE NOTE:** * **11AM Start -** Please be considerate and arrive early. * **$10 Cover Charge:** Room hire, facilities, and running costs.
Esoteric Astrology Book Reading Group
Esoteric Astrology Book Reading Group
Join Theosophist Margaret Harris, PhD, in her continuing series of discussions, digging deeper into Astrology every Friday from 4:00pm - 5:30pm WHO AM I? It is not the fear of God' which is 'the beginning of wisdom' but the knowledge of SELF which is Wisdom Itself .. MAN KNOW THYSELF" (Blavatsky,1901, p.15, Studies in Occultism) KNOW THYSELF In this supportive weekly group, through an Astrological lens and connecting with our own birth maps, we explore books that can help us explore paths towards our spiritual unfoldment. Through a variety of texts, from both Theosophists and Astrologers, we look at the energetic connections we have with the heavens and how they can assist us as we journey from our personality selves to our spiritual selves. Various knowledges from participants are also welcomed and encouraged as we continue to work with the 3rd object of the Theosophical Society: "To investigate unexplained laws of Nature and the powers latent in the human being" The Society is a registered charity and these events are free, but donations are welcome.

Ideally, we need 10 people to come along and it will be a nice cheap weekend. •What we'll do: Come join us for 1, 2 or 3 days of touring in Creswick and surrounds. We'll also make time to enjoy the various CresFest acts available over the weekend both free and paid. Some will need to be prebooked depending on your choice. Day 1 [https://ridewithgps.com/routes/54455563](https://ridewithgps.com/routes/54455563) Day 2 [https://ridewithgps.com/routes/54455709](https://ridewithgps.com/routes/54455709) Day 3 [https://ridewithgps.com/routes/54455809](https://ridewithgps.com/routes/54455809) If you would prefer, you can also make use of the accommodation and come along for 3 days of riding the Creswick Trails or just to do your own thing. Friday 10th April, Catch the 8.36 am train from Southern Cross Station to Ballarat. We'll meet in the Ballarat Station waiting room at 10 oclock and make our way to Creswick via Kingston, where we'll stop for lunch. It's approx 30k til lunch, so we won't be stopping for a coffee along the way. If you'd like a coffee before you start, please catch the earlier train (7.53am) Saturday we'll head out to the north (this could change if the wind is unfavourable) and then over to Clunes for lunch. Sunday we'll pack up and make our way back to Ballarat via the Creswick Trails and State Forest. Cresfest tickets are currently on sale, so if you are interested in booking a paid event it would be a good idea to start thinking about that now. I have booked a table at the American Hotel for 6.30 on Saturday. There is a supermarket and plenty of cafes in town to purchase food. We can have a BBQ dinner on Friday night, a short walk from the hall. The entire town is booked out but we have secured the use of the local Scout Hall for the two nights. The Hall has plenty of grassed area to pitch your tent or park your van. You can also sleep inside the hall, however, it is a concrete floor. The hall is well equipped, with oven and hotplates, microwave, crockery, cutlery, pots pans, kettle, griller oven, fridge, tables and chairs. You only need to bring your bedding. There is a toilet in the hall but no shower. A free shower is located at a local park, a short distance from the hall. Etiquette: Social pace. We wait for each other to regroup at key navigational points. No one is left behind with a puncture. **RIDE REGISTRATION FORM** The form should be available within a day or two of the ride announcement. The link to the form will be seen in the event messages when you RSVP. Please complete it when available. **ESSENTIAL ITEMS** Functioning headlight & tail light Spare tube and a puncture kit, basic tools MYKI card, ATM card/cash, rain gear, food/snacks, etc. • Important to know Touring or mountain bikes only as we will be riding some loose gravel roads. Not suitable for road bikes Bring camping gear including tent, sleeping bag, sleeping mat, **Water** Recommended to bring 2 water bottles due to distances between towns. It's your responsibility to check the temperature and distance for the day and carry an appropriate amount of water. When riding outside suburbia remember that carrying too much water is better than not enough as the distances between water availability may vary greatly from the planned route due to road closures or other unforeseen circumstances. Check your app for any changes the day before a the ride, as the ride may be cancelled in the event of extreme weather or other unforeseen circumstances. If you cannot make it to the ride please change your RSVP to 'NO' at least one day before the ride day. This ride is for MBTC club members, or those who have not yet done 3 days riding with. To join our club check out [https://www.mbtc.org.au/membership](https://www.mbtc.org.au/membership) Benefits include other rides not listed on Meetup, special event meetings, social events, RWGPS club subscription, etc. The MBTC Refund & Cancellation Policy can be found [here](https://www.mbtc.org.au/refund-cancellation-policy/). When I RSVP for this event/activity I acknowledge that the activity of bicycle riding can be dangerous and that I may suffer loss or injury or death and I agree that in consideration of my participation in any event conducted by the MBTC that I will absolve from liability the MBTC, its officers, and any event organiser from all claims, demands, or suits whether for personal injury or property loss suffered whether by negligence or breach of contract or otherwise, save for any right I may have pursuant to the Trade Practices Act 1977 (Commonwealth) as amended. AI is changing how art is made. But when does it stop being your work and start being the machine’s? This month we're going to be doing a panel with with digital image, music, and written word artists, talking about at what point, while using AI in the creation process, does the work become not the artist creation? We encourage audience participation during this event that will be moderated by Chris Slee. Whether you’re deep in the field or just getting curious, come connect with others building and exploring AI in Columbus. Conversacion en español (en persona)
While some are still meeting online, this is an in person event. Please note that we have attendees of all levels of speaking, including some native speakers. All are welcome! Also, as we meet at the same time and place each week, many don’t RSVP on the app, so we will likely have more attendees than noted here. Note: if you are asked to pay and upgrade the Meetup app, this is not necessary. You can ignore this and still attend our meetings. Data & Analytics Wednesday - The Data-Driven Brand
Data & Analytics Wednesday - The Data-Driven Brand
**The Data-Driven Brand: Using Analytics to Shape Perception** Can you use analytics to improve tacos? This being CBUSDAW, we think the answer is probably “yes”, but we’re not sure how to implement or test this theory. For our April meetup we’ve got Sara Kear, CMO of Condado Tacos, to investigate this delicious question. Sara will explore how she blends quantitative data and qualitative customer feedback to shape brand positioning and drive business decisions. We all know that marketing and analytics go way beyond attribution. Sara will show how Condado uses customer insights to inform product and pricing strategy. She’ll also highlight how Condado leverages customer feedback at scale to influence operational priorities, positioning marketing as the voice of the customer across the organization. In the last 12 years Condado has gone from one location in Columbus to 52 locations across 10 states, so we’re guessing there’s more to that growth than really good guac (though the guac probably helps). Ultimately, this talk focuses on the intersection of art and science—using data to inform creativity and build a brand that resonates with customers in a measurable way. **About Our Speaker** Sara Kear is Chief Marketing Officer at Condado Tacos, where she oversees brand, restaurant design, menu and pricing strategy, off-premise including catering, and customer data strategy. Since joining in 2021, she has helped grow the brand from 19 to 52 locations while building a data-driven marketing organization focused on loyalty and customer insights. Condado has since been named to the Inc. 5000, recognized as Breakout Retailer by Chain Store Age, and consistently ranked among FastCasual’s Top 100 Movers & Shakers.
