Pour la première rencontre du cinéclub je vous propose de découvrir Le Roi et l'Oiseau (1980), un grand classique d'animation. Inspiré du conte de fées d'Ansersen La Bergère et le Ramoneur, ici, leur amour est contrarié par le roi Charles V et Trois Font Huit et Huit Font Seize, redouté de tous sauf de son oiseau moqueur. Il a marqué les fondateurs du Studio Ghibli Miyazaki et Takahata, Takahata en particulier avait déclaré qu'il ne serait pas lancé dans l'animation sans le choc que lui avait procuré ce film. By popular demand, the group wanted to read and discuss the semi-autobiographical novel by Henri-Pierre Roche, that inspired the Truffaut movie we watched last year. The book is available through the Columbus Library's interlibrary loan system. They reported there are twenty-eight copies available in the state of Ohio. There are also used copies available on Amazon and eBay for under twenty dollars. You may want to rewatch the movie after reading the book, so we can compare and contrast in our discussion.
