Ses recherches portent notamment sur l’évaluation et l’amélioration de la **fiabilité des explications produites par les modèles d’apprentissage profond.** Il introduira un cadre d’évaluation centré sur l’humain, nommé PASTA, qui propose de mesurer dans quelle mesure les explications générées par les systèmes d’IA correspondent réellement à la perception et au raisonnement humains. Cette approche met en évidence un enjeu clé de la XAI : une explication n’est utile que si elle est à la fois compréhensible par l’utilisateur et fidèle au modèle dont on veut expliquer l'inférence. En parallèle, il explorera les limites des approches actuelles basées sur des modèles de concepts issus de CLIP (Contrastive Language-Image Pretraining : modèle entraîné à associer images et descriptions textuelles, permettant ainsi de relier des concepts visuels à des mots ou des phrases.) Ses travaux mettent en évidence des phénomènes tels que les « hallucinations de concepts » (le modèle attribue à une image des éléments qui n’y sont pas réellement présents) et les difficultés de localisation précise des régions pertinentes dans l’image. Ces limites posent des questions sur la robustesse et la fiabilité des méthodes actuelles d’explicabilité. Cette présentation offrira ainsi un éclairage sur les enjeux actuels de l’IA explicable et sur les pistes méthodologiques pour **concevoir des systèmes plus transparents, plus interprétables et dignes de confiance**. Or how much computation one can sneak inside an OCaml type? This talk proposes to answers those questions and more with a deep dive into GADTs, the OCaml compiler implementation of the exhaustiveness checking for pattern match, and how to best trick the typechecker into finding the BB(3) champion by itself. **Extending OCaml's pattern matching -- Yanni Lefki** Pattern matching has been studied for decades and has been the subject of extensive research and numerous extensions. Nevertheless, recent language features—such as Rust’s if-let construct, and recent work such as Cheng and Parreaux (OOPSLA 2024), suggest that there is still room for improvement. We propose a streamlined approach that unifies pattern matching with extended forms of conditionals. In particular, our prototype introduces binding-boolean-expressions, which allow variables to be bound within pattern guards, within if-conditions (and subsequently used in the then branch), and within while-conditions (and used in the loop body). Our system also incorporates Haskell-style views, enabling the definition of smart deconstructors, the dual of smart constructors. In this talk, we present an ML-like language equipped with evaluation rules, typing rules, and a simple compilation scheme. We conclude with a demonstration of our implementation: an OCaml PPX prototype that parses an extended ML syntax exposing these constructs, type-checks programs according to our (highly intuitive!) rules, and translates them into a correct OCaml AST via our (non-optimizing) transformation. \*\*\* Les présentations seront suivies par des discussions libres. Pour notre prochaine rencontre, une découverte de la littérature finlandaise : *À la recherche du vivant* de la jeune auteure Iida Turpeinen. En 1741, le naturaliste Georg Wilhelm Steller rejoint la Grande Expédition du Nord. Cette mission d’exploration et de recherche scientifique, menée par le capitaine Vitus Béring, a pour objectif d’ouvrir une route maritime entre l’Asie et l’Amérique. Les navires partis de Russie n’atteindront jamais le continent américain, mais Steller fera une découverte singulière : une nouvelle espèce de grand mammifère marin, connue aujourd’hui sous le nom de « rhytine de Steller ». Chassée pour sa viande, la rhytine disparaît en moins de trois décennies, et devient dès lors un objet de fascination. Épopée passionnante, *À la recherche du vivant* nous fait traverser les siècles dans le sillage de la rhytine de Steller, mais aussi des hommes et des femmes dont le destin a été mêlé à celui de cette extraordinaire créature. This year's Eurovision Song Contest is being held in Vienna, Austria, and the finals are scheduled for 16 May 2026. The [Scandinavian Club of Columbus](https://www.scandiclub.com/) will be co-hosting a viewing party for the final event in conjunction with Germania and the [Columbus Maennerchor](https://www.maennerchor.com/). The delayed televised viewing will take place at the Germania.
