Eric LaRocca is a queer author with 7 published novels. He is a 3x Bram Stoker Award finalist, a Shirley Jackson Award nominee, and a 2x Splatterpunk Award winner (ericlarocca.com/about). Their novel Things Have Gotten Worse Since We Last Spoke is considered their most famous work. In case you aren't aware, the term "splatterpunk" (coined in 1986 by author and editor David J. Schow) refers to a subgenre of horror fiction that is known for being graphic, gory, and violent, and emerged as a revolt against typical horror fiction (wikipedia.com). So, get ready for a gory and graphic story? The term "splatterpunk" seems to have decreased in popularity since it reached a peak in the mid-90s but it still used to describe the niche subset of horror fiction.
