### Being Human

Service Led by Rev. Adam Slate

we invite you to join us for a Unitarian Universalist worship service led by Rev. Adam Slate exploring the theme “Being Human.” Humanism has found a welcoming home within Unitarian Universalism over the past century, rooted in a shared commitment to freedom, reason, and tolerance. In this service, we will take a closer look at the Humanist movement and reflect on what it offers to the UU tradition today.
Rev Adam Slate holds spiritual dual citizenship in the British Unitarian and Unitarian Universalist traditions. He is the minister of New Unity, a historic Unitarian congregation in north London, and a longtime member of the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Charlottesville, Virginia, USA. He holds a Master of Divinity degree from Phillips Theological Seminary.
Adam ran for the US House of Representatives in the 2018 election to promote the need for universal health care, address income disparity, and provide relief for student debt.
Adam has led services in three countries and online, across multiple faith traditions, and on many spiritual and secular themes drawing from his Unitarian and Jewish background. He is committed to building connections within and between congregations, to social equity and justice work, and to sharing Unitarian values with a world that desperately needs them.

Children and families are welcome at our services! UUFP offers Religious Exploration (RE) for children ages 5-12. This month, after reading the book "Carl and the Meaning of Life" by Deborah Freedman, the children will explore what has meaning for them and what is important. There is a babysitter for younger ones during the service.

All are welcome to join us for refreshments after the service (please bring your own cup). You are also invited to join some of us who go for lunch in a nearby restaurant.
