Valley Lady Walkers

The walk begins at The Preserve at District 56 (9701 Big Horn Blvd, Elk Grove). Park at the Aquatics Center parking lot which is north of the park on Big Horn Blvd. The parking lot is big so let’s meet in front of the Aquatics Center building.

We are going to walk through The Preserve and then walk around the surrounding neighborhood and circle back to the park.

This 5 mile walk is flat and mostly on paved pathways and sidewalks. We will be walking through the Preserve and then through neighborhoods. There are toilets at The Preserve. Bring a water bottle and wear comfortable walking shoes.

We'll begin this walk at Katzakian Park, 2735 W. Turner Rd., Lodi (has bathrooms), then into the neighborhood housing area south of Turner Rd., walking through Peterson Park and then back to Katzakian Park in a loop route. Total miles about 3 to 3 1/2 miles. Wear comfortable walking shoes and bring a water bottle along. Dogs OK.

We will start at the southern end of Elk Grove Creek Trail near Elk Grove Florin Road. This is a partial sunny, partial shade walk along dirt, packed gravel and a paved walkway. This is an out and back walk starting and ending at Elk Grove Florin Road.
If you have ever wanted to walk across the pedestrian bridge that crosses over highway 99 - this is your chance!
The one drawback to this walk is there are no toilets along the way.
We will meet in the parking lot in front of Moonlight Cleaners. Please wear comfortable shoes appropriate for walking on packed gravel and dirt.

The walk begins at the main parking lot between the Visitors Center (13501 Franklin Blvd., Galt, CA 95632) and Franklin Blvd on the east side of Franklin Blvd. The Cosumnes River Preserve is a nature preserve of 46,000 acres that protects a Central Valley remnant that once contained one of the largest expanses of oak tree savanna, riparian oak forest and wetland habitat in North America.

We are going to walk 5 miles through the nature preserve on a variety of dirt, paved and wooden plank trails. We will walk the entire preserve, including the west side of Franklin Blvd. There are toilets at the visitor center. Bring a water bottle and wear comfortable walking shoes.

Note: The bridge on Franklin Blvd is being repaired. Franklin Blvd is closed from Twin Cities Road to Desmond Road. If you are coming from the north please take highway 5 to Walnut Grove Road exit, head east and turn left on Thornton Road.
