Wines with Altitude Tasting at Christos' House
Détails
Do vineyards at higher altitude produce a different style of wine to vineyards lower down? Vineyards at higher altitude are cooler (the temperature drops 0.65 C every 100m), get more intense sunlight, and are windier with lower humidity. So what effect does this have on the wine produced? Come to this tasting to find out!
The tasting will start with 2 bottles of a welcome white from Switzerland. Then there will be 3 other whites and 5 reds from a variety of regions including Italy, Greece, Cyprus, Lebanon, Spain, Chile, Argentina and South Africa. See the photo for some of the wines we will taste. All of the wines will come from vineyards with a minimum altitude of 500m above seal level.
Numbers will be limited to 12 people seated round one table, so almost a bottle of fine wine per person. During the tasting a selection of fine cheeses, pates, and other food will be served.
