Dettagli

The event will feature Andy Petrella, Co-founder of Kensu (formerly Data Fellas), who will take us through a journey of how to use Scala for doing interactive programming, distributed programming and machine learning.

The venue has limited capacity, thus we will have to limit the number of attendees. Please only RSVP "yes" if you really plan to attend. Once the maximum number of attendees has been reached, you can still join the waiting list.

Only registered people will be admitted.

Please update your RSVP in case you cannot join so that you can leave the seat to someone else from the waiting list.

The entrance is Headquarter 1 (HQ1) near the Bicocca University. Please print, fill in and bring the "Informativa aziendale (https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BzlsDOzJvBsoNE9CVDFudUVMa2c/view?usp=sharing)" in attachment with your ID card at the reception.
Please allow at least 30 minutes for the registration and guest badge collection.

Agenda:

18:00 Welcome Aperitivo

Ask one of the organizer for the Aperitivo ticket. Finger food and drinks will be served throughout the event.

19:00 (25 minutes)

"Building a data-driven culture at Pirelli" opening talk by Carlo Torniai, Head of Data Science & Analytics (DSA) at Pirelli Tyre (pirelli.com).

19:30 (90 minutes)

"Data Science for the Enterprises" by Andy Petrella, Co-founder at Kensu (kensu.io).

The talk will cover what Data Science applied to the Enterprise means, the challenges, the takeaway and the expected advantages.

In accord with the constraints imposed by real life businesses, we’ll have a demonstration of an environment focused on production readiness preserving the capacity to prototype, enabling deployment and favouring continuity.

We’ll close the debate with a note about the next challenges: how to ensure the maintainability, the data governance and the perennity and evolution of knowledge in a long life Enterprise with a growing number of datasets, data, data scientists, processes and use cases.

About Andy

Andy is a mathematician turned into an entrepreneur in/with Data Science.
Andy participated in many projects built on distributed technologies like Spark, Cassandra and Mesos in various fields including Geospatial, IoT, Automotive and Smart cities projects.
He is the creator of the Spark Notebook (https://github.com/andypetrella/spark-notebook), the only reactive and fully Scala notebook for Apache Spark.
Xavier Tordoir and Andy founded Kensu (http://www.kensu.io/) (formerly Data Fellas (http://data-fellas.guru/)) building Adalog to make Data Science enterprise ready.
Andy has many collaborations with O’Reilly:
