✨ 🚀 Clean Code Myths & The FDAP Stack 🐍 ✨

We are back for the 2026 season with a brand new meetup hosted by our friends at Fiscozen. To kick off the year, we are diving deep into two critical topics: challenging the dogmas of software design and exploring the cutting edge of data architecture.
We will start by questioning if "Clean Code" is always the right answer (and what it costs you in performance). Then, we will see how modern systems move data at high speeds with the "FDAP" stack: Flight, DataFusion, Arrow, and Parquet.

Agenda

  • 👋 18:30 Doors Open
  • 🧼 19:00 Talk: “Write Clean Code” and how you’re going to think it twice with Giulio Davide Carparelli
  • 🏹 19:50 Talk: FDAP Stack: High-Performance Data Architecture based on Apache Arrow with Emanuele Domingo & Giacomo Rossi
  • 🍻 After the meetup we will organize a dinner close to the venue, anybody who wants to join is welcome!

📍 Venue: Fiscozen, Via Roncaglia 12, Milano MI (Bolivar M4, De Angeli M1)
📺 The event will be recorded and streamed on Python Milano Youtube channel (links will appear here close to the event)

🧹🧐 “Write Clean Code” and how you’re going to think it twice
What if, after many year spent on believing in Clean Code as a religion, you discover that Clean Code itself has its weaknesses? In this talk, we are going to discover how much it can affect performance.

The goal of the talk is not to make people think "Clean Code is trash" (spoiler: it's not) but to let people learn to always question what can sound as unquestionable truths.

Giulio Davide Carparelli, Software Engineer @ Fiscozen
I'm a music nerd and Green Day lover. My passion for developing starts at the young age of thirteen, after seeing a small Javascript demonstration at the local high school. I'm a Software Engineer from 4 years, mostly skilled in TypeScript and Python.

🏹✈️ FDAP Stack: High-Performance Data Architecture based on Apache Arrow

Take a tour through the FDAP technology stack: Flight, DataFusion, Arrow, and Parquet. It’s a modern, cloud-friendly approach to building data systems that move and process information quickly and efficiently. In this talk, we’ll break down how these tools fit together and show how Arrow’s columnar format makes it possible to stream data between services at high speed, without extra copying or memory overhead.

Emanuele Domingo, Technical Product Owner @ Hiop
Graduated in Computer Science, I was hire #1 at Hiop. I started as an intern in a newly founded startup, working first as a frontend developer on the POC, then moving to the backend with Python and AWS. Nowadays, I manage feature development for Hiop’s core product, Jump.

Giacomo Rossi, Software Engineer @ Hiop
Graduated in Computer Science & Engineering, I joined Hiop one year ago. I work as a Software Engineer with a strong focus on Data Engineering, designing and building data architectures on AWS using Jump, our core platform. Alongside this, I contribute to the development and evolution of Hiop’s tool, working across backend, infrastructure, and platform components.

Please use your real Name and Surname to register, we cannot assure you will be able to access the venue if not.
