Chi siamo
This group is for anyone interested in Buddhism or anyone simply wishing to try out Buddhist meditation in a relaxed and friendly setting. Sessions are led by experienced meditators who give an introduction to tranquillity meditation to help develop a calm and peaceful state of mind. This meditation technique is common to all Buddhist schools and our particular transmission is from the Sakya School of Tibetan Buddhism. For those who would also like to find out more about Buddhist ideas and beliefs, our Discover Buddhism classes combine tranquillity meditation with a talk on a key topic. After each class, there is also time to ask questions and talk to fellow meditators. Every session is open to all and no booking is required.

Life beyond noise - the dance of life and death
Sakya Buddhist Centre, 121 Sommerville Road, Bristol, BS6 5BX, GBWhere am I now? What should my life be about? How should I best use my time? How should I be with others?
It is not always easy to answer such questions in the busyness and uncertainty of everyday life. That is why, in these classes, we'll take time to reflect on the qualities of this human life, the reality of death, what the nature of experience is and how we use our actions to dynamically create present and future happiness. The content doesn't require any prior knowledge and is shared so you can question it and explore it for yourself.
Session format
Each week we start with 15 - 20 minutes of meditation to settle the mind (instructions given) followed by a 15 minute talk and reflective meditation. There is also time to continue any discussions over coffee from 11.30am.Course instructors
