We’re so used to small talk… “How are you?” “What do you do?” “Where are you from?” But how often do we actually talk for real? ⸻ ✨ What this event is about: We’ll sit together in a circle at a public park, and explore meaningful questions— the kind that make you pause, reflect, and sometimes even feel a little vulnerable. Each person will have the chance to share (only if they want to), while everyone else listens with: • No judgment • No interruptions • Just empathy and presence ⸻ 💬 What kind of questions? Questions that go a bit deeper, like: • What’s something you’ve been struggling with lately? • When was the last time you felt truly understood? • What’s something people misunderstand about you? (Some are deep, some are light, but all are meaningful.) ⸻ 🤝 The vibe: This is a safe and respectful space. No pressure to share anything you’re not comfortable with. You can always pass. The Humanist Monthly Program is our longest running event and still a community favorite. In the old days it used to be called "Going to HCCO" and we still like to think of it as our flagship event. We will be hearing from Becca Powell, Director of Advocacy and Outreach at Unchained At Last, an organization whose mission is dedication to ending forced and child marriage in the United States through direct services and systems change. Unchained At Last's mission clearly meshes and addresses several of our Humanist Ten Commitments. Becca will educate us about an issue many of us may not be familiar with--but should be.
