Derrière ce constat, se dessine une question essentielle : quel monde sommes-nous en train de construire ? — « Je suis né avec la décolonisation de l’Afrique que j’ai sillonnée de long en large ; j’ai grandi avec la guerre froide, que j’ai vue disparaître au centre de l’Europe ; j’ai été témoin de l’essor inexorable, majeur, de la Chine; j’ai parcouru les terres meurtries du Proche-Orient ; et je tente chaque matin, depuis huit ans, d’analyser au micro de France Inter la bascule du monde. Cela fait un demi-siècle que j’accompagne, en tant que journaliste – reporter, correspondant ou éditorialiste – et pour le meilleur comme le pire, les transformations de notre planète. Or ce monde est devenu plus difficile à “lire”, plus déroutant, plus inquiétant également.
