AI tools are moving beyond simple code generation. But how useful are they when building a real application?
In this session, we will take IBM Bob v2 for a practical test drive. We will create a habit tracker application with Spring Boot and Thymeleaf, starting from an empty project and building it into a working Java application.
During the session, we will look at how IBM Bob v2 can support everyday development tasks, from planning and implementation to testing, refactoring, and reviewing code.

What we'll do

• Create a Spring Boot & Thymeleaf habit tracker from scratch
• Add features such as habits, daily tracking, streaks, statistics, calendar views, and achievements
• Explore new capabilities of IBM Bob v2
• Compare Bob v2 with the first release
• Discuss practical approaches for working with AI coding tools
• See how AI can assist with planning, coding, testing, and code reviews
• Answer questions from the community
• Publish the finished project as open source
