We spend more time picking a coffee than looking at a painting. That's not a metaphor — the average museum visitor gives a masterpiece less than thirty seconds before moving to the next one.

This session is about staying past those thirty seconds. Not "doing the museum," not collecting rooms — just a handful of extraordinary works and enough time to actually be in front of them. You don't need to know anything about art history. Genuinely nothing. The only requirement is attention, and I promise that's harder and more interesting than it sounds.

We'll spend time with:
Raphael's La Fornarina, Caravaggio's Judith Beheading Holofernes, Filippo Lippi's Annunciation, Holbein's Henry VIII, and — if we get lucky with the light — Pietro da Cortona's ceiling, honestly the best argument for "how to look at art" I know. (4–5 works, final list depends on what's on view that day).

HOW THIS WORKS:

• 16:00 | Meeting & Introduction: We meet right at the entrance — a few minutes to say hi, get to know each other, take care of quick logistics, and set the stage for how our silent prompts and afternoon will work.

• 16:15–17:00 | Guided Silent Experience: We enter the museum together as a group. Moving past hundreds of world-famous masterpieces to deliberately focus on just five will be a genuine challenge for your attention — but that focus is where the magic happens.

Inside the galleries, we won't be having live lectures or discussions. Instead, our dedicated WhatsApp group will become our silent guide: in front of each masterpiece, I’ll send simple step-by-step prompts to guide your looking, followed by a brief backstory of the work. You’ll anchor your immediate thoughts, feelings, and impressions right there in the moment — so please bring a small paper notebook or be ready to use the notes app on your phone.

• 17:00–17:15 | Personal Time: You get 15 minutes on your own — use the restroom, catch your breath, or take one more look at something that caught your eye.

• 17:15–18:30 | Aperitivo & Reflection: We head out to a lovely Rooftop bar (Spritzeria Barberini - to be confirmed), three minutes away, for about an hour of drinks and lively conversation — opening our notes, unpacking what came up, comparing perspectives, and actually talking through the paintings, the artists, and the history.
Total time: about 2.5 hours, start to finish.

A NOTE ON WHAT THIS IS (AND ISN'T):
I'm not a licensed guide. I won't be walking you through art history or filling silence with dates and facts. My role is to facilitate — to ask questions that help you drop into the moment and notice what's happening in you, not just in the painting. What catches your eye first, before you've thought about why. What you feel before you start interpreting.

The stories and the context come later, over aperitivo, once we've actually looked. By the end you'll probably remember only three or four paintings — but you'll actually remember them, not just recognize them in a book later.

COST: €15, paid on the spot at the beginning, covers the organizing — planning, coordination, facilitating the group. Museum entry is free (first Sunday of the month) or paid separately at the venue. Aperitivo is on your own budget, €10+.

JOINING: Groups are capped at 5–10 people, on purpose — small enough that everyone actually gets to talk. Once you're in, you'll be added to a WhatsApp group for this specific event for logistics, updates, and our silent prompts during the visit.

CANCELLATIONS: Life happens — if something comes up, let me know in the WhatsApp group as soon as you can, so I can offer your spot to someone else. No penalties, just a heads-up so the group stays real.
