- Road to the golden jacket - speed up your AWS learning! (Vishesh Kumar - Customer Delivery Architect, AWS)
Are you interested in delving deeper into AWS but uncertain about where to begin? Does the thought of taking certification exams scare you? Rest assured, our speaker, Vishesh will be sharing his personal experiences and anecdotes with you on his journey to earning 12 certifications twice!
- Measuring the Impact of Network Latency (Widya Salim - Data Scientist, SEEK)
In this non-randomized causal impact analysis, Widya will outline the learnings and frameworks used to quantify the impact of reducing Twitter's network latency. The network latency was reduced by adopting AWS Cloud Edge, which shortened the Round Trip Time (RTT) to end users. The goal of the analysis was to infer increases in revenue and key metrics from the experiment, essentially measuring the return on investment. Robustness and reproducibility are thus crucial — an emphasis on experiment design, guardrails and methodology adopted to achieve this will be discussed at length.
- Further Your Cloud Native Journey with Distributed SQL and Graviton (Yogi Rampuria - Principal Solution Engineer, Yugabyte)
Cloud-native architectures are commonplace and this journey does not have to stop at the application level. Let's explore how distributed SQL and AWS Graviton can optimize the TCO for you!
2. Workshop Session:
Continuing our containers exploration journey, In this workshop session, We will delve into the intricacies of deploying containers on the EKS (Kubernetes) platform including a deep dive into its core components. At the end of this workshop session, you will be well equipped with deploying and managing containers using the EKS containers platform.

🔑 Access:
- Share your email address with us when completing your registration so that you can receive a QR code in your inbox on the day of the meetup.
- Scan your QR code at the gantry to head up to the 9th floor, where you can collect your AWS visitor pass.
- If you somehow did not have a chance to share your email address or opt-out, you can still register at the building's reception on the first floor to get your access pass to the AWS concierge on the 10th floor and be guided to the 9th floor. You are strongly recommended to share your email address for a smooth check-in process 🙂
The meetup will be held at the AWS Dhoby Ghaut Room (09.401) while the workshop will be held next door at the Tanah Merah Room (09.402). Our friendly staff will guide you during peak hours.
