Join me for a Valentine’s Day hike on Ikoma mountain on the border or Osaka and Nara prefectures. 💘 🥾 🇱🇰 ⛩️

We will start by visiting Hiraoka taisha at the base of Ikoma mountain. We will hike up to the Kuragari toge an ancient trail to the old capital, Nara. We will stop at a couple rest areas and view points.

We will visit the Lucky Garden Cafe and Restaurant where you can enjoy Sri Lankan curry and other food and drinks.

Lastly, we will explore Hozanji temple before descending the cable car to Ikoma station.
Please wear comfortable shoes appropriate for hiking, bring warm clothing and plenty of water. You may purchase food at Lucky Garden or bring your own lunch.

Kuragari Tōge (暗がり峠), meaning “Dark Pass,” is a historic mountain pass in Japan located on the border of Osaka and Nara Prefectures, crossing the Ikoma Mountains.

One of the oldest routes connecting Osaka and Nara, it has been used since ancient times and is known for its steep climbs, narrow paths, and dense forest. The pass earned its name from the dark, eerie atmosphere created by thick trees and frequent fog, and it has long been associated with legends, ghost stories, and local folklore.

This historic trail winds through rustic farmland and quiet stretches of forest and wetland before reaching the summit of Kuragari Tōge, then continues along the slopes of Mount Ikoma.

Along the route, viewing decks offer expansive views of Osaka City, while charming, historic shrines and temples are scattered throughout the landscape.

We will also stop at Lucky Garden Café and Restaurant, where you can enjoy your choice of food and drinks, and spend time feeding and playing with their friendly goats and sheep.

バレンタインデーに、大阪と奈良の県境にある生駒山でハイキングしませんか？💘🥾🇱🇰⛩️

まずは生駒山の麓にある枚岡大社へお参りします。古都奈良へと続く古道、暗峠までハイキングします。途中、休憩所や展望台に立ち寄ります。

スリランカカレーをはじめ、様々な料理、ドリンク、デザートをお楽しみいただけるラッキーガーデンカフェ＆レストランへお立ち寄りください。

最後に宝山寺を散策し、ケーブルカーで生駒駅まで下車します。
ハイキングに適した履き心地の良い靴、暖かい服装、そして十分な水分をお持ちください。ラッキーガーデンで食事を購入することも、お弁当をご持参いただくことも可能です。

暗がり峠は、大阪府と奈良県の境に位置し、生駒山地を越える日本の歴史ある峠です。

大阪と奈良を結ぶ最古の道の一つで、古代から利用され、急な登り坂、狭い道、そして深い森で知られています。鬱蒼とした木々や頻繁に発生する霧によって生み出される暗く不気味な雰囲気から、この道は「黒岳」と呼ばれ、古くから伝説や怪談、地元の民話など、様々な形で語り継がれてきました。

この歴史あるトレイルは、素朴な農地や静かな森、湿地帯を抜け、黒岳山頂に到達し、その後は生駒山の斜面に沿って続きます。

ルート沿いには展望台があり、大阪市街を一望できます。また、趣のある歴史ある神社仏閣が点在しています。

また、ラッキーガーデンカフェ＆レストランにも立ち寄ります。お好みのお食事、ドリンク、デザートをお楽しみいただき、フレンドリーなヤギや羊に餌をあげたり、遊んだりして、楽しいひとときをお過ごしください。
